first, the N2O and CH4 emissions in the Netherlands are calculated for each type of fuel for<br />
every vehicle category that uses this fuel, assuming vehicle kilometres and emission factors at<br />
a disaggregated level (see Section 1.4.1);<br />
secondly, the energy consumption of all road vehicles is calculated per type of fuel;<br />
finally, these values are divi<strong>de</strong>d upon each other, which results in the emission factor in grams<br />
per GJ of fuel (Tables 1.31 and 9.1 A-C).<br />
The N2O and CH4 factors are <strong>de</strong>rived for each type of fuel from the actual emissions and the fuel<br />
consumption. Figures 1.12 and 1.13 below show the progression of these factors.<br />
