Tug-o-War contest<br />

Saturday July 21 at 4 p.m.<br />
RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />
1. No pre-entry form is required; teams will enter<br />
at the time of weigh-in. At that time names will<br />
be taken and an entry form will be filled out.<br />
Each team needs a captain address and phone<br />
number that will be recorded.<br />
2. There will be an entry fee of $5.00 per team.<br />
This will cover the cost of prizes.<br />
3. The entry fee is non-refundable.<br />
4. Weight limit is 1500 pounds (this will be<br />
checked).<br />
5. Weigh-in from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon<br />
of the tug of war. (The scale is located behind<br />
the pig barn. Any team not at the scales by 3:30<br />
will be eliminated from competition.)<br />
6. No spikes or cleats allowed.<br />
7. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated.<br />
This will result in immediate disqualification.<br />

CECIL COUNTY FAIR 2012<br />
8. Each member will understand that they are<br />
pulling at their own risk. The <strong>Cecil</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
<strong>Fair</strong> and the <strong>Cecil</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> Board will not<br />
be held responsible for any bodily harm or<br />
injury to a participant resulting from the tug of<br />
war competition.<br />
Pulling regulations:<br />
1. No one under 16 may enter the competition.<br />
2. Rope may not be tied around the anchor during<br />
the pull.<br />
3. It will be a double elimination event if time<br />
permits; single elimination may be required<br />
due to time restraints. Committee chair will<br />
make final decision.<br />
4. All decisions made during the competition will<br />
be final.<br />
5. Teams may be required to pull in back to back<br />
competitions due to placing.<br />
6. Pulling order will be determined by lottery.<br />
7. Rotating trophy as well as T-shirts will be<br />
awarded to the winning team.<br />
1. Each participant will receive two throws, with the longest throw counting as their official toss.<br />
2. Tosses will be conducted as follows: all persons in your age category will throw once, then all<br />
persons will throw a second time.<br />
3. You may sign up to participate in the fair office any time before 7 pm on Thursday, July 26.<br />
4. The measure by the chairperson is official.<br />
5. Ribbons awarded to the top 6 placings in each division. Trophy awarded to the male and female<br />
with the longest toss.<br />
6. Competition will be held at upper part of fairgrounds between the horse barns.<br />
