The <strong>United</strong> <strong>States</strong> Professi<strong>on</strong>al Tennis Associati<strong>on</strong>’s<br />
World C<strong>on</strong>ference <strong>on</strong> Tennis was held Sept. 16-<br />
21 at the Hyatt Regency M<strong>on</strong>terey Hotel & Spa<br />
in M<strong>on</strong>terey, Calif. The speakers included Nick<br />
Bollettieri, Vic Braden, Barbara Fackel, Rod<br />
Heckelman, Jose Higueres, Michele Krause, Jim<br />
Loehr, Rosie Bareis, Craig J<strong>on</strong>es, Hank Pfi ster, Jeff<br />
Salzenstein and Paula Scheb.<br />

The San Diego Divisi<strong>on</strong> had 35 members and guests<br />
attend the event. Pictures of the event are <strong>on</strong> the fr<strong>on</strong>t<br />

was a w<strong>on</strong>derful educati<strong>on</strong>al event with great <strong>on</strong>-court<br />
and inside presentati<strong>on</strong>s. Our own Pete Kelly gave a<br />
presentati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> Doubles for Every<strong>on</strong>e that was well<br />
attended.<br />
Nick Bollettieri gave an inspiring speech <strong>on</strong> his life and<br />
how to Make Things Happen. Michele Krause showed<br />
how TRX Cardio works and how it can incorporate 16<br />
players <strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong>e court. Jeff Greenwald gave <strong>on</strong>-court<br />
ways to fi ne tune the focus and intensity dials. Jim<br />
McLennan gave tips <strong>on</strong> teaching the junior serve. And<br />
Mark Fairchilds gave practical techniques <strong>on</strong> six z<strong>on</strong>es<br />
of doubles.<br />
