Steve Kappes wins award<br />
On October 13, Steve Kappes (Secretary of the San Diego<br />
Divisi<strong>on</strong> of the <strong>USPTA</strong>) will be awarded the Navy Regi<strong>on</strong><br />
Southwest Fleet, Fighter, Family, Champi<strong>on</strong> Award<br />
aboard the USS MIDWAY in c<strong>on</strong>juncti<strong>on</strong> with the Navy’s<br />
birthday celebrati<strong>on</strong>. Rear Adm. Dix<strong>on</strong> Smith, Commander,<br />
Navy Regi<strong>on</strong> Southwest will recognize twenty<br />
people that day for various c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s to the Navy. This<br />
award is designed to recognize those individuals, groups<br />
or entities that are providing outstanding support to the<br />
Fleet, the Sailor, or the Sailor's family. Steve, a retired<br />
navy captain, has worked to establish a str<strong>on</strong>g relati<strong>on</strong>ship<br />
with the Navy over the years that helps sustain and grow<br />
the military outreach programs in Southern California.<br />

<strong>USPTA</strong> logo now available<br />
to all professi<strong>on</strong>al-level<br />
members<br />
The <strong>United</strong> <strong>States</strong> Professi<strong>on</strong>al Tennis Associati<strong>on</strong> is pleased to announce the<br />
logo program for all professi<strong>on</strong>al-level members in good standing, which will<br />
provide access to the <strong>USPTA</strong> certifi ed professi<strong>on</strong>al logo as an added member<br />
benefi t.<br />
The goal is to help members promote themselves as a <strong>USPTA</strong> professi<strong>on</strong>al, promote their events and build the <strong>USPTA</strong><br />
brand. Once the logo agreement is signed and accepted, members immediately have access to the logo in various<br />
formats and sizes to use in many ways. Members are encouraged to use the logos <strong>on</strong> email signatures, promoti<strong>on</strong>al<br />
fl iers for their club/facility and to promote their tennis programs, <strong>on</strong> social media platforms, such as their Facebook,<br />
Twitter, and LinkedIn pages, etc.<br />
Members can go to the member login page, sign in and click <strong>on</strong> the My Membership tab and then click <strong>on</strong> membership<br />
documents. The link to the certifi ed member logos is at the bottom of the page. After following the instructi<strong>on</strong>s to<br />
sign the logo agreement form, members will have access to the logo. Also, if a member is current <strong>on</strong> dues and is also<br />
a Master Professi<strong>on</strong>al and/or Tester, he/she will gain access to those logos as well.
