Classes and Physically Challenged<br />

1. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes,<br />

Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes<br />

(SC/ST/OBCs) were recommended by the<br />

Commission by a relaxed standard as per rules for<br />

various examinations.<br />

Recruitment by Examination<br />

2. During the year <strong>2007</strong>-<strong>08</strong>, the Commission<br />

were able to recommend candidates belonging<br />

to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other<br />

Backward Classes for all the vacancies reserved<br />

for them from all the examinations except for<br />

Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical<br />

Service Examination, 2006, Central Police Forces<br />

(Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2006 and<br />

Combined Medical Services Examination, <strong>2007</strong>.<br />

In respect of Indian Economic Service/ Indian<br />

Statistical Service Examination, 2006 against<br />

Castes, 23 Scheduled Tribes and 76 Other<br />

Backward Classes Candidates were recommended<br />

respectively. In respect of Combined Medical<br />

Services Examination, <strong>2007</strong> against the reserved<br />

vacancies of 28 Scheduled Castes, 15 Scheduled<br />

Tribes and 59 Other Backward Classes, 19<br />

Scheduled Castes, 13 Scheduled Tribes and<br />

59 Other Backward Classes Candidates were<br />

recommended respectively.<br />
