Other Backward Classes considered during the<br />

year <strong>2007</strong>-<strong>08</strong>, recommendations were made for<br />

198 posts leaving a shortfall of 20.5 percent of<br />

In-Service Training to Candidates<br />

10. The Commission recommended inservice<br />

training to 13 candidates belonging to<br />

the Scheduled Castes, nine to the Scheduled<br />

Tribes and 16 to the Other Backward Classes<br />

who were selected for appointment on the<br />

basis of relaxed standards so that they could<br />

come up to the general standard. Duration of<br />

in-service training ranged from three months<br />

to one year after their appointment to the post<br />

in the areas comprising the duties attached to<br />

the post. Community-wise and duration-wise<br />

distribution of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled<br />

Tribe/ Other Backward Class candidates to<br />

whom the in-service training was recommended<br />

by the Commission during the year <strong>2007</strong>-<strong>08</strong>, is<br />

given in Table 4.<br />
