Ski Area Management
Program Receive Olympic
Games Groomer!
Mt. Zion and the Ski Area Management (SAMS) students are
thrilled with the recent snowfall, so they can use their new stateof-the-art
Kassbohrer PistenBully 600 groomer. Ski Area
agreement several years ago with the company that
enables the college to secure almost new equipment for the students
to learn and work on. “Because we are a learning facility,
our budget is limited,” Vanderspoel said. “This arrangement has
worked out so well for us. With the groomer we acquired this
year, we are now sending students out into the workforce who
are trained on the absolute latest, topnotch technology there is.”
The groomer was only used for a brief period of time,
and that was during last winter’s Olympic Games in Vancouver,
British Columbia.
