SCOPE OF WORK TENDER NO :<br />

Common shutdown jobs, Capital repair jobs and Maintenance <strong>of</strong> Heat<br />
Exchangers in Utilities Department <strong>of</strong> VISAKHAPATNAM <strong>Steel</strong> Plant<br />
After removing the molecular sieves, the mesh is to untied by removing the<br />
SS wires at the edges.<br />
The mesh, then, carefully rolled without folding, from one end and to be<br />
removed from the drier bottle.<br />
The mesh is to be placed at the location shown by VSP Engineer and<br />
the damages, if any are to be repaired.<br />
As decided by VSP engineer, either repaired (or) new mesh is to be fixed<br />
back. Supply <strong>of</strong> new mesh is in VSP <strong>scope</strong>.<br />
While filling the mesh, ensure that there are no foldings or damages to<br />
the mesh. The mesh are to be tied to the bed carefully by SS wire at the<br />
ends.<br />
2.8 Technological assistance for upkeep <strong>of</strong> Manual valves (15 NB to 200<br />
NB) (Item no.20 to 23 <strong>of</strong> BOQ)<br />
Removal <strong>of</strong> valves from position (valves are installed in different<br />
locations in ASU at different heights ranging from ground level up to<br />
height <strong>of</strong> 30 meters)<br />
Shifting <strong>of</strong> valve to maint. area, dismantling <strong>of</strong> valve, cleaning <strong>of</strong><br />
internals<br />
Replacement <strong>of</strong> packing, bonnet gaskets etc<br />
Lapping <strong>of</strong> valve seat if required<br />
Assembling back <strong>of</strong> valve & greasing <strong>of</strong> spindle wherever required<br />
Putting back the valve in position after changing the flange gaskets (new<br />
gaskets are to be cut & replaced)<br />
Leak checking<br />
2.9 Scope <strong>of</strong> <strong>work</strong> for strl./sheeting repair (item no 24 & 25 <strong>of</strong> BOQ)<br />
Contractor shall dismantle the damaged sheetings <strong>of</strong> the cold boxes <strong>of</strong> Air<br />
Separation Units and replace it with new ones. Contractor shall erect<br />
approach ladders, <strong>work</strong>ing platforms and walkways for safe operation and<br />
maint. <strong>of</strong> indifferent units <strong>of</strong> Utilities dept. Most <strong>of</strong> the structural &<br />
sheeting mainly consists <strong>of</strong> light structural (including GC sheets).<br />
Old structures shall be dismantled where ever necessary. All the welding<br />
joints and sheeting wherever necessary shall be painted immediately after<br />
repair. The painting shall be one coat <strong>of</strong> red oxide primer plus two<br />
finish coats <strong>of</strong> synthetic enamel. The entire <strong>work</strong> shall be done as per<br />
the instructions <strong>of</strong> Engineer-in-charge or his authorised representative.<br />
Contractor shall provide for adequate manpower to complete the job<br />
with a qualified supervisor. The job involves <strong>work</strong>ing at different<br />
heights ranging from +4.0m to +30.0m. The contractor shall make<br />
arrangements for necessary scaffoldings etc.<br />
2.10 Scope <strong>of</strong> <strong>work</strong> for piping replacement jobs(item nos: 26 to 31, 55 <strong>of</strong><br />
