SCOPE OF WORK TENDER NO :<br />
TENDER No : 72211-0<br />
Common shutdown jobs, Capital repair jobs and Maintenance <strong>of</strong> Heat<br />
Exchangers in Utilities Department <strong>of</strong> VISAKHAPATNAM <strong>Steel</strong> Plant<br />
supervisors.<br />
5.1.1 Contractor to deploy Man power to carry out the job in all the 3<br />
shifts (round the clock operation as per instructions <strong>of</strong> engineeri/c.<br />
5.1.2 Cutting <strong>of</strong> gaskets:- all gaskets to be cut & kept ready. Material<br />
will be provided by VSP.<br />
5.1.3 Any other item not mentioned but required for satisfactory<br />
completion <strong>of</strong> job shall be in Contractor's <strong>scope</strong>.<br />
6.0 SPECIAL CONDITIONS<br />
6.1 For common S/D jobs<br />
6.1.1 Deployment <strong>of</strong> welding machines/cutting set/grinding machines<br />
Common shut down jobs:- Item sl no. 1 to 8 & 31 <strong>of</strong> BOQ are common shut<br />
down jobs to be carried on the shut down day within the shut down period<br />
<strong>of</strong> 4 to 8 hours as the case may be. For these jobs, contractor shall<br />
mobilise minimum following numbers <strong>of</strong> equipments (which are minimum<br />
estimates) on the shut down day to carry out all the shut down jobs.<br />
Welding machines: 6 Nos. <strong>of</strong> which minimum 3 nos. shall be DC machines<br />
Gas cutting sets : 4 nos.<br />
Grinding machines 4 nos.<br />
Sufficient manpower commensurate with the jobs on that day including 6<br />
welders & 4 fitters shall be deployed.<br />
6.1.2 For job sl.no: 5,6 & 31 <strong>of</strong> BOQ, TIG welder with radiography<br />
grade welding shall be deployed. The welder will be tested at site by<br />
Engineer-in-charge or his representative<br />
6.2 For Capital repair jobs<br />
6.2.1 For all the jobs <strong>of</strong> capital repairs, the contractor shall ensure<br />
availability <strong>of</strong> minimum 3 nos. <strong>of</strong> welding machines <strong>of</strong> which one shall be<br />
DC. During ASU capital repairs minimum 4 nos. welding machines, 4 welders<br />
and 3 fitters are to be ensured.<br />
6.3 For Chemical cleaning jobs<br />
6.3.1 Contractor shall deploy minimum 3 sets <strong>of</strong> pumps & hoses arrangement<br />
so as to carry out chemical cleaning <strong>of</strong> 3 exchangers simultaneously at<br />
different locations.<br />
6.3.2 The contractor shall ensure that the pumps & tank set up shall be<br />
sufficient to take care <strong>of</strong> all exchangers as per boq.<br />
6.3.3 The contractor shall employ competent persons for the purpose <strong>of</strong><br />
analysis if needed & shall be approved by engineer i/c.<br />
6.3.4 The entire <strong>work</strong> shall be inspected by Engineer-I/c or his<br />
representative for completion <strong>of</strong> descaling operation, passivation, testing,<br />
lining up and same shall be entered in the format and necessary signatures<br />
obtained.<br />
