SCOPE OF WORK TENDER NO :

Common shutdown jobs, Capital repair jobs and Maintenance of Heat
Exchangers in Utilities Department of VISAKHAPATNAM Steel Plant
supervisors.
5.1.1 Contractor to deploy Man power to carry out the job in all the 3
shifts (round the clock operation as per instructions of engineeri/c.
5.1.2 Cutting of gaskets:- all gaskets to be cut & kept ready. Material
will be provided by VSP.
5.1.3 Any other item not mentioned but required for satisfactory
completion of job shall be in Contractor's scope.
6.0 SPECIAL CONDITIONS
6.1 For common S/D jobs
6.1.1 Deployment of welding machines/cutting set/grinding machines
Common shut down jobs:- Item sl no. 1 to 8 & 31 of BOQ are common shut
down jobs to be carried on the shut down day within the shut down period
of 4 to 8 hours as the case may be. For these jobs, contractor shall
mobilise minimum following numbers of equipments (which are minimum
estimates) on the shut down day to carry out all the shut down jobs.
Welding machines: 6 Nos. of which minimum 3 nos. shall be DC machines
Gas cutting sets : 4 nos.
Grinding machines 4 nos.
Sufficient manpower commensurate with the jobs on that day including 6
welders & 4 fitters shall be deployed.
6.1.2 For job sl.no: 5,6 & 31 of BOQ, TIG welder with radiography
grade welding shall be deployed. The welder will be tested at site by
Engineer-in-charge or his representative
6.2 For Capital repair jobs
6.2.1 For all the jobs of capital repairs, the contractor shall ensure
availability of minimum 3 nos. of welding machines of which one shall be
DC. During ASU capital repairs minimum 4 nos. welding machines, 4 welders
and 3 fitters are to be ensured.
6.3 For Chemical cleaning jobs
6.3.1 Contractor shall deploy minimum 3 sets of pumps & hoses arrangement
so as to carry out chemical cleaning of 3 exchangers simultaneously at
different locations.
6.3.2 The contractor shall ensure that the pumps & tank set up shall be
sufficient to take care of all exchangers as per boq.
6.3.3 The contractor shall employ competent persons for the purpose of
analysis if needed & shall be approved by engineer i/c.
6.3.4 The entire work shall be inspected by Engineer-I/c or his
representative for completion of descaling operation, passivation, testing,
lining up and same shall be entered in the format and necessary signatures
obtained.
