4. Associative Parallelism: The correlation <strong>of</strong> elements which are complementary to one<br />

ano<strong>the</strong>r. This association may be material, familial, functional, or gender-based.<br />

a. Material association, in which <strong>the</strong> substance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> elements is similar in nature.<br />

b. Familial association, in which elements are related by kinship. Example, lines 5129-<br />

c. Functional association, in which two elements act in a similar manner. Example, lines<br />
