DEFINITIONS<br />

<strong>BITEC</strong> defines non-nailable specifications<br />

as those “situations” where<br />

no fasteners are used in the entire<br />

new roof system.<br />

Nailable specifications include all<br />

“situations” where fasteners of any<br />

type have been used within the new<br />

roof system.<br />

EXAMPLES:<br />

A concrete deck normally considered<br />

to be a non-nailable deck,<br />

would be considered a nailable deck<br />

if insulation or base sheet was<br />

mechanically fastened.<br />

Therefore, APM-4T.2 designates<br />

a roof system using mechanical fasteners<br />

<strong>and</strong> an APM-4T cap sheet.<br />

APM-4T.1 would designate a roof<br />

system without fasteners <strong>and</strong> an<br />

APM-4T cap sheet.<br />

WARRANTY PERIOD<br />

DESIGNATIONS<br />

All specifications for warranty systems<br />

other than the 10-year systems<br />

must be pre-approved by <strong>BITEC</strong>’s<br />

Technical Services Department.<br />

Warranty periods other than 10<br />

years are designated by the addition<br />

of .12 for 12 years, .15 for 15<br />

years or .20 to indicate a 20-year<br />

warranty period.<br />
