South America's biggest oilfields have been discovered in the headwaters of the
Amazon in Ecuador, with a devastating impact on the lives of the local
indigenous people and the environment. The Worani were "invisible people" until
oil was discovered on their land, since when more than half their population has
been wiped out. The Tageri people are the last "invisible tribe" and they do not
want to happen to them what has happened to the Worani. This is the story of
Australian activist, Doug Ferguson's, tireless efforts as a "barefoot diplomat"
during the ten years he has lived in a rainforest with the Amazon Indians.
