An investigation into the politics of climate change and how it is impacting on
science, and what it could cost Australia. Reports on the disturbing allegations
that a powerful group of industry lobbyists, viz. from the fossil fuel industry,
have hijacked the Australian greenhouse policy. Their influence extends all the
way into Federal Cabinet; and one industry lobbyist even maintains that he has
access to Cabinet papers, enabling him to fix the outomes. They are the self-
professed 'Greenhouse mafia'. Examines also separate claims by eminent
Australian scientists that the public is being denied full information about
government strategies to combat global warming. Looks also at claims that CSIRO
scientists are being gagged from public debate on the subject, when it reflects
badly on govenment policy. The latest weather extreme forecast for Australia is
alarming. The year, 2005 was the hottest on record; and carbon emissions are
forecast to bring more heat waves, storms, droughts, bushfires and diseases.
This report is presented to help Australians understand what they are not being
told.
