In 2006 <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Boys</strong> created, in honor of a true leader and man<br />
of significance in <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Boys</strong>’ history, an endowment scholarship<br />
fund in honor of Brother Andrew O’Gara, FSC.<br />
Commitment and strength are words synonymous with Brother Andrew. Upon his<br />
name and legacy the school is building and further ensuring its ability to serve the<br />
young men who pass through the halls. Brother Andrew died in November, 2008 at<br />
the age of 80—but his legacy lives on.<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong> is committed to strengthening the school by accepting the strongest<br />
students without regard <strong>for</strong> their ability to pay the full tuition, ensuring that a <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong><br />
education remains af<strong>for</strong>dable, enriching the school community by reaching out<br />
to the diverse population of New York City.<br />

National Hockey League<br />
Players Association<br />
A $15,000 grant was awarded to <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> by the Goals<br />
& Dreams Fund of the National Hockey League Players Association.<br />
The Goals and Dreams Fund is intended to provide equipment grants<br />
<strong>for</strong> hockey programs.<br />
Launched in 1999, the Goals and Dreams Fund has donated more than<br />
17 million dollars in full sets of equipment in over 20 countries and<br />
13,000 children.<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong> was able to purchase 15 full sets of hockey equipment<br />
with this grant.<br />
U.S. Lacrosse Equipment<br />
Grant Program<br />
The USL (U.S. Lacrosse) Equipment Grant Program provides<br />
funding <strong>for</strong> lacrosse sticks and protective gear to lacrosse<br />
programs in their first year of operation. <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Raymond</strong> received<br />
$5000.00 to purchase 24 sets of equipment.<br />
Since 1998, the USL grant program has made awards to 260 programs nationwide totalling<br />
more that 1.4 million dollars.
