The rule’s work practice standards apply to:<br />

• Inspections, abatements, risk assessments, and lead hazard screens (limited risk assessments) 210 ;<br />

• Collection and analysis of samples 211 ; and<br />

• <strong>Lead</strong>-based paint determinations.<br />

4. Training and Certification<br />

The rule provides for:<br />

• Training for inspectors, risk assessors, supervisors, workers, and project designers 214 ;<br />

• Certification for such individuals, 215 and re-certification every three or five years, as applicable 216 ; and<br />

• Certification of firms conducting LBP activities (including the requirement to submit fees every three<br />

years to maintain certification). 217<br />

5. Training Program Accreditation<br />

For programs seeking accreditation to train inspectors, risk assessors, supervisors, workers, and project<br />

designers, the LBP Activities Rule establishes:<br />

• Minimum curriculum requirements for initial and refresher training 218 ;<br />

• Training program qualifications 219 and application procedures 220 ;<br />

• Recordkeeping requirements 221 ;<br />
