Ground transportation
Within the Santo Domingo metropolitan
area, the Santo Domingo Metro runs
north to south and vice versa for a
distance of 15 kilometers along 16
strategically placed stations in the
city. Safe and efficient secondary
transportation is available at each metro
stop thanks to the Fondo de Desarrollo
del Transporte Terrestre (FONDET). See

The city of Santo Domingo also has
permanent public transportation inside the
metropolitan area that is provided and
regulated by the Oficina Metropolitana
de Servicios de Autobuses (OMSA).
