The Dietician will in<strong>for</strong>m the referring Doctor <strong>of</strong> the outcome, <strong>and</strong> where necessary, will liaise<br />
<strong>with</strong> other Health Care pr<strong>of</strong>essionals, <strong>for</strong> example, Speech <strong>and</strong> Language Therapist, Health<br />
Visitor, School Nurse, etc. Where necessary the Dietician will also liaise <strong>with</strong> the School<br />
Meals Service.<br />
How <strong>of</strong>ten will my child need to see a Dietician?<br />
Some children may only need one appointment <strong>with</strong> the Dietician, <strong>with</strong> or <strong>with</strong>out future<br />
follow up by another health care pr<strong>of</strong>essional. Other health care pr<strong>of</strong>essionals can contact<br />
the Paediatric Dietician at any time <strong>for</strong> advice.<br />
Some children may have an initial appointment <strong>with</strong> 1 - 4 follow up appointments depending<br />
on their condition.<br />
Some children are not able to eat orally at all, <strong>and</strong> are dependent on special tube feeds <strong>for</strong><br />
their nutrition. These children require regular, long-term follow up.<br />
