ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION<br />

Cable shall be <strong>Alpha</strong> <strong>Wire</strong> <strong>Company</strong> XTRA•GUARD ® 5.<br />

Manufactured from stranded, tin coated copper conductors in<br />

accordance with ASTM-B-33. Conductors shall be insulated and<br />

jacketed with fluorinated ethylene propylene FEP Teflon ® , which<br />

exceeds requirements of the UL VW-1 and 210,000 BTU/HR<br />

Flame Tests.<br />

Conductor insulation shall conform with UL style 1886 (300 Volt,<br />

150°C).<br />

Insulated conductors shall be fully color coded.<br />

Cable shall meet or exceed the requirements of UL Style 20229,<br />

20231 and 20232 for 300 Volt installations, and CSA CMP FT6<br />

for 300 Volt applications. Cable shall be in compliance with .<br />

Cable shall be approved for use in mines in accordance with<br />

Pennsylvania Bureau of Deep Mine Safety, P-MWMS-1-85.<br />

Cable shall be unaffected by any known chemicals, acids, fuels,<br />

solvents or oils at room temperature.<br />

Cable shall be resistant to weather, heat aging and ultraviolet<br />

(UV) light.<br />

Foil/braid combination. Triple laminate tape,<br />

aluminum/polyester/aluminum bonded in one layer, 25%<br />

overlap, overall 70% coverage tinned copper braid shield.<br />

Provides maximum shielding effectiveness.<br />
