1. Introduction to <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong><br />

3 In the Services window, double‐click the service named <strong>webMethods</strong> MwS.<br />

4 Click Start.<br />

After a few seconds, the status changes to Started.<br />

To stop <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> on a Windows host<br />

1 Open the Control Panel and double‐click the Administrative Tools icon.<br />

2 In the Administrative Tools window, double‐click the Services icon.<br />

3 In the Services window, double‐click the service named <strong>webMethods</strong> MwS.<br />

4 Click Stop.<br />

After a few seconds, the status changes to Stopped.<br />

Starting and Stopping from the Command Line<br />

You can start or stop <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> at a command prompt on either Windows<br />

or UNIX computers.<br />

To start or stop <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> from the command line<br />

1 At a command line prompt, type the following command to move to the <strong>My</strong><br />

<strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> directory:<br />

cd <strong>webMethods</strong>_install_dir/MWS/server/server_instance/bin<br />

2 Type one the following commands:<br />

Purpose Operating system Command<br />

Start <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> in the<br />

same console window<br />

Start <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> in a<br />

new console window<br />

Windows run.bat<br />

UNIX run.sh<br />

Windows startup.bat<br />

UNIX startup.sh<br />

Stop <strong>My</strong> <strong>webMethods</strong> <strong>Server</strong> Windows shutdown.bat<br />

UNIX shutdown.sh<br />
