Meadowside is ‘Out of this World’
Meadowsides Creative Curriculum allows our children to explore many different topics in lots of exciting ways.
Themes this term have included Wombling Around, Terrific Tudors, Traditional Tales and Fly Me to the Moon.
As many of you might have seen the BBC had a series called Stargazing which explored our solar system.
This programme caused great interest in Years Five and Six who have been learning about this very
subject. So our pupils came up with questions to ask Professor Brian Cox for his live webcast. They voted
for which question to send in. The most popular question from Year 5 was ‘If the sun is a star, why do we
see it in the daytime?’ The professor answered this during his webcast and the answer can be seen on the
BBC website. These sorts of opportunities bring our childrens learning to life!

Meadowside quiz night is on Friday 23rd March in the school hall starting at 7.30pm. Come as a team
(6 people) or come along and join another team. Only £1 per person and we also have a raffle. Come along
and support our fundraising.
