Welcome to the <strong><strong>Austria</strong>n</strong> Pavilion at<br />
INNOVATIONS FOR THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT 2008<br />
<strong><strong>Austria</strong>n</strong> Pavilions have become a regular feature at building and energy shows in the UK. This<br />
year for the first time there is an <strong><strong>Austria</strong>n</strong> Pavilion at INNOVATIONS FOR THE BUILT ENVIRON-<br />
MENT, highlighting the unique pool of expertise that <strong><strong>Austria</strong>n</strong> companies offer in the fields of<br />
sustainable building, renewable energy and modern methods of construction.<br />
Zero carbon houses, prefabrication and biomass heating systems are all well established and commercially<br />
viable technologies in <strong>Austria</strong> where there is also a long tradition of innovative timber<br />
engineering.<br />
The <strong><strong>Austria</strong>n</strong> Pavilion features 9 of <strong>Austria</strong>’s leading companies in these fields, with products on<br />
show ranging from passive house technologies, prefabricated houses, solar and biomass heating<br />
systems to the latest structural timber products (naturally all from certified forests!).<br />
This booklet gives a brief introduction to the <strong><strong>Austria</strong>n</strong> companies represented at INNOVATIONS<br />
FOR THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT and I encourage you to meet their representatives in person to<br />
find out more about what they have to offer.<br />
