Nathaniel Magruder <strong>of</strong> Dunblane was <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> John Magruder<br />
and Susanna Smith, grandson <strong>of</strong> Samuel Magruder and Sarah Beall,<br />
great-grandson <strong>of</strong> Alexander Magruder, Maryland immigrant.<br />
AMONG THE MEMBERS.<br />
On February 24, 1917, an organization known as <strong>the</strong> Genealogical-<br />
Historical <strong>Society</strong> met at <strong>the</strong> residence <strong>of</strong> Dr. and Mrs. E. B. Smith.<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Society</strong> is for preserving and collecting genealogical<br />
and historical records. Miss Martha S. Harbison was chosen<br />
temporary chairman, and Mrs. Katharine Bryant Smith secretary.<br />
The following <strong>of</strong>ficers were elected: Mrs. Jennie Morton Cunningham,<br />
president; Mrs. Mary Middleton Nicholas, vice-president;<br />
Mrs. Katharine Bryant Smith, secretary; Mrs. Mamie Carri<strong>the</strong>rs<br />
Lawrence, historian; Miss Martha S. Harbison, registrar; Mrs. Annie<br />
