IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?
The Event and Conference industry is one of the largest employers in the country. As an
industry it is continuing to grow and expand offering the opportunity to work in a rapidly
changing industry with a range of different opportunities.
This qualification is suitable for learners interested in planing events. It provides an overview
of the skills required for successful event planning and organisation.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED?
An interest in working in the event industry
either from a Tourism, Hospitality or
Business viewpoint. No qualifications for
entry are required.
WHAT DOES THE COURSE INVOLVE?
Visiting a range of different event providers,
speaking to and meeting people from the
event industry, putting together a portfolio
and planning and organising an event.
Units covered are:
> Planning an Event
> Event Review and Evaluations
> Market Research and Marketing Method
in Event Planning
> Human Resource Planning at Events
> Communication and Customer Service
at Events
HOW WILL MY WORK BE ASSESSED?
Portfolio Building Students will develop
a portfolio of the units which will be put
together and assessed by an external
moderator.
WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
Look to work in the Event industry in a
number of different capacities either in
management or front office.
