Tom Groll is a visual artist from Germany. Through
his ‘outsiders eyes’ he has become interested in
the ‘Seven Wonders of Wales’ and they will form
the basis of his work, which is a mixture of object
and performance. Blue MacAskill and Ciara
Leeming will be working with him and will be
documenting and responding to the experiences
of local people, with a particular focus on the
Eisteddfod and themes of transformation.

Club goes to the Fat Cat to spin out some fine
summer tunes with a soulful mix of afro soul,

TOM GROLL - LIGHT INSTALLATION
CENTRAL STATION
30 July - 6 August, evenings
Central Station and TK Maxx, Wrexham
People once worried that photographs would
steal their souls, but now we’re recorded by
security cameras every day. What happens to all
these pictures? German visual artist, Tom Groll,
will transform films from the railway concourse
into a large-scale artwork, which he will project
from Central Station onto the facade of
TK- Maxx. Thus, real observation and artistic
intervention will intermingle into some kind of
surreal research in the public space.

GREENLAND

St Giles’ Church, Wrexham
The church steeple of St. Giles, one of the seven
wonders of Wales, is a haven of peace, standing
powerful and illustrious above the town. It will
provide the structure for a large-scale lighting
projection from German visual artist Tom Groll
who says "On a window in the church you can
find a hymn to the icy mountains of Greenland.
I aim to project images of parts of an iceberg
onto the facade of the tower. Miraculously
iceberg and tower will melt together into a new
figure of night".
