The new <strong>MSHS</strong> nurse Practitioner Cardiology<br />
Fellowship is the first program of its kind in the<br />
nation, based in a clinic outside a university setting.<br />
the one-year post graduate program includes<br />
didactic and clinical work with rotation<br />
through all areas of inpatient and outpatient<br />
cardiology. the program covers topics<br />
including electrophysiology, cardiac diagnostic<br />
services, congenital heart disease, heart failure,<br />
anticoagulation, cardiac rehabilitation and<br />
interventional studies.<br />
Class Notes<br />
Tamara Redden, FnP-BC, was the program’s<br />
first graduate. redden brought to the pilot year<br />
her past clinical education expertise to develop<br />
the new program. She previously earned a<br />
certificate as a family nurse practitioner. redden<br />
has worked at <strong>Mayo</strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> in arizona in nursing<br />
positions since 1998 and is using her new skills<br />
working in outpatient electrophysiology.<br />
