Andrew Warmuth received the Mn aPta<br />

outstanding Student award, presented by the<br />

Minnesota chapter of the american Physical<br />

therapy association, which honors a graduating<br />

student who demonstrates strong academic<br />

performance, excellent clinical performance and<br />

professionalism.<br />

Kevin Wait, Beth Cloud, Lindsey Forster,<br />

Tiffany Jones, Jess Nokleby and Cortney Wolfe<br />

co-authored a study with faculty member<br />

Jim Youdas titled “use of an audience response<br />

system (arS) during peer teaching among<br />

physical therapy students in human gross<br />

anatomy: perceptions of peer teachers and<br />

students” that was published in Anatomical<br />

Sciences Education.<br />

Beth Cloud co-authored a descriptive paper with<br />

faculty members Jim Youdas, Nathan Hellyer<br />

and Dave Krause titled “a functional model of<br />

the digital extensor mechanism: demonstrating<br />

biomechanics with hair bands” that was also<br />

published in Anatomical Sciences Education.<br />

Brian Budach, Jay Ellerbusch, Craig Stucky and<br />

Kevin Wait co-authored a study with faculty<br />

members Jim Youdas and John Hollman titled<br />

“Comparison of muscle activation patterns during<br />

the conventional push-up and Perfect Pushup<br />

exercises” that will be published in the Journal of<br />

Strength & Conditioning Research.<br />

Connie Bogard, assistant professor of physical<br />

therapy, successfully defended her doctoral<br />

dissertation in 20<strong>10</strong> and earned her Phd in adult<br />

education from the university of Minnesota’s<br />

College of Education and Human development.<br />

Kathy Cieslak, instructor of physical therapy,<br />

was presented with the program’s outstanding<br />

Classroom teaching award.<br />

Nathan Hellyer, assistant professor of physical<br />

therapy, was recognized with a 20<strong>10</strong> Emerging<br />

Leader award from the american Physical<br />

therapy association. additionally, he authored<br />

or co-authored peer-reviewed publications in the<br />

Journal of Applied Physiology and Anatomical<br />

Sciences Education in the 2009-20<strong>10</strong> academic year.<br />

John Hollman, program director and associate<br />

professor of physical therapy, was recognized with a<br />

20<strong>10</strong> <strong>Mayo</strong> School of Health Sciences outstanding<br />

Educator award. additionally, he authored or<br />

co-authored peer-reviewed publications in the<br />

Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy Theory &<br />

Practice, Gait & Posture, PM&R, the Journal of Strength<br />

& Conditioning Research, and the American Journal<br />

of Men’s Health in the 2009-20<strong>10</strong> academic year.<br />

Dave Krause, assistant professor of physical<br />

therapy, authored or co-authored peer-reviewed<br />

publications in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation,<br />

the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research, the<br />

<strong>Clinic</strong>al Journal of Sport Medicine, and Anatomical<br />

Sciences Education in the 2009-20<strong>10</strong> academic year.<br />

Desiree Lanzino, assistant professor of physical<br />

therapy, authored or co-authored peer-reviewed<br />

publications in Neurosurgical Focus and the<br />

American Journal of Men’s Health in the 2009-20<strong>10</strong><br />

academic year.<br />

Aaron Rindflesch, assistant professor of physical<br />

therapy, authored peer-reviewed publications in<br />

Physiotherapy Theory & Practice and the Journal of<br />

Allied Health in the 2009-20<strong>10</strong> academic year.<br />
