Andrew Warmuth received the Mn aPta
outstanding Student award, presented by the
Minnesota chapter of the american Physical
therapy association, which honors a graduating
student who demonstrates strong academic
performance, excellent clinical performance and
professionalism.
Kevin Wait, Beth Cloud, Lindsey Forster,
Tiffany Jones, Jess Nokleby and Cortney Wolfe
co-authored a study with faculty member
Jim Youdas titled “use of an audience response
system (arS) during peer teaching among
physical therapy students in human gross
anatomy: perceptions of peer teachers and
students” that was published in Anatomical
Sciences Education.
Beth Cloud co-authored a descriptive paper with
faculty members Jim Youdas, Nathan Hellyer
and Dave Krause titled “a functional model of
the digital extensor mechanism: demonstrating
biomechanics with hair bands” that was also
published in Anatomical Sciences Education.
Brian Budach, Jay Ellerbusch, Craig Stucky and
Kevin Wait co-authored a study with faculty
members Jim Youdas and John Hollman titled
“Comparison of muscle activation patterns during
the conventional push-up and Perfect Pushup
exercises” that will be published in the Journal of
Strength & Conditioning Research.
Connie Bogard, assistant professor of physical
therapy, successfully defended her doctoral
dissertation in 2010 and earned her Phd in adult
education from the university of Minnesota’s
College of Education and Human development.
Kathy Cieslak, instructor of physical therapy,
was presented with the program’s outstanding
Classroom teaching award.
Nathan Hellyer, assistant professor of physical
therapy, was recognized with a 2010 Emerging
Leader award from the american Physical
therapy association. additionally, he authored
or co-authored peer-reviewed publications in the
Journal of Applied Physiology and Anatomical
Sciences Education in the 2009-2010 academic year.
John Hollman, program director and associate
professor of physical therapy, was recognized with a
2010 Mayo School of Health Sciences outstanding
Educator award. additionally, he authored or
co-authored peer-reviewed publications in the
Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy Theory &
Practice, Gait & Posture, PM&R, the Journal of Strength
& Conditioning Research, and the American Journal
of Men’s Health in the 2009-2010 academic year.
Dave Krause, assistant professor of physical
therapy, authored or co-authored peer-reviewed
publications in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation,
the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research, the
Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, and Anatomical
Sciences Education in the 2009-2010 academic year.
Desiree Lanzino, assistant professor of physical
therapy, authored or co-authored peer-reviewed
publications in Neurosurgical Focus and the
American Journal of Men’s Health in the 2009-2010
academic year.
Aaron Rindflesch, assistant professor of physical
therapy, authored peer-reviewed publications in
Physiotherapy Theory & Practice and the Journal of
