Membership
Membership in CIP4 is organizational. Your annual dues
cover all fulltime employees of your organization or
company and provide them with access to memberonly
benefits. There are three classes of membership.
Partner Level Membership — at $15,000 USD per year,
is the highest level of membership and is for those
companies that want a guaranteed seat on the CIP4
Advisory Board and participate actively in the leadership
of CIP4.
Full Level Membership — at $3,000 USD a year, is for
any company that produces systems and software for
the graphic arts industry. Full membership allows your
company to use the JDF SDK in commercial products,
participate in interoperability testing, have access to
drafts of the standard in development and sample
code, and allows your technical staff to participate in
technical groups specific to your company’s interests
and products. Quite a bargain for vendors — since a
commercial SDK alone may cost tens or even hundreds
of thousands of dollars.
Associate Level Membership — at $150 USD per year,
is for users of JDF such as printers, publishers, prepress
services, as well as consultants, educational institutions
and distributors. This level is deeply discounted, reflecting
vendors’ interest in your input and feedback. Associate
membership provides you with unparalleled access
to inside information on JDF, JDF systems and JDF
experts. If you are implementing, using, or planning on
implementing JDF, you can recoup the cost of membership
almost immediately by getting help and answers
that you’ll find nowhere else. Both Full and Associate
level memberships have multiple seats on the CIP4
advisory board. These are elected positions (every other
year), that any member may choose to volunteer for.

You can also view the CIP4 Bylaws and Membership
Regulations to learn more about how CIP4
operates. A hardcopy original application must be
mailed in to CIP4, as proof of your acceptance of
CIP4’s policies. After a two week review (to ensure
that companies have applied for the appropriate
class of membership), you will be invoiced for your
dues and given access to CIP4’s members-only
benefits.
