Another Big Investment by Balloo Hire
Balloo Hire has taken delivery of what is believed to be the single
biggest excavator order in the last 4 years here.
Three Kubota U48-4 five tonne
machines were delivered
recently to Balloo Hire’s
Lisburn depot, bringing to 20
the number of excavators
bought from F Rogan Plant
in the last two months,
representing an investment in
excess of £500,000, the other
machines being 17 KX71-3
three tonne machines.
"Business is growing, and we
are experiencing steady demand
for these excavators from a

number of sectors, not just the
traditional construction and civil
engineering areas," said Balloo
Hire Managing Director Paul
Lavery, "and we are confident
that trend will continue."
Added Brian Rea from Rogan
Plant: "We are obviously
delighted with the order which
demonstrates that despite
the challenging economic
climate there is still a lot of
business out there. These
Kubota U48-4 machines are
very popular with operators, as
they are robust, easy to handle,
extremely versatile and ideal for
working in restricted areas."
The machine also has a
luxurious cabin that features
a deluxe seat and a wider
entrance which enables
easier entrance and exit to
and from the cabin. Visibility
is excellent, as is stability,
while the Rollover Protective
Structure and Operator
Protective Guard combine to
maximise safety on site.
Although the Kubota excavator is
state-of-the-art, its maintenance
doesn’t get much easier. Thanks
to the full-opening rear and
right side bonnets, engine,
control valves and various
components are accessible
for easy inspection and repair,
as our pictures demonstrate.
Telehandlers
The machines are not the only
recently investment by Balloo
Hire. The company has also
taken delivery of three new
Genie 2506 6m telehandlers
from Sleator Plant. Dermot

Ballyvesey Construction Division

to have placed another 3 latest
generation Genie machines
with Balloo Hire. Although
these machines already have
outstanding performance for
their size in terms of lifting
capacity and reach, new
improvements include a
redesigned dash and operator
module, smoother hydraulic
functions, a new load handling
system and fully opening service
access ability". Paul Lavery
commented, "the 6m Genie
telehandler has been a great
success in our fleet, and we’re
happy to add more, especially
the new models with the
additional operating capability
