The Belfast Rapid Transit System
has been developed to bring
a reliable and modern public
There are three routes planned
in the pilot project stage linking
between Belfast City Centre and
the Titanic Quarter development,
Dundonald in East Belfast and
Glenmona in West Belfast.
After a busy morning the group
deserved a well earned lunch
in Clarence Court, overall the
event was a great success and
thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Philip Shields, outgoing Branch Chairman, CIHT, presents cheque to
Professor Cathy Craig
A cheque was presented by
Philip Shields, the outgoing
Branch Chairman, to Professor
Cathy Craig in the School of
Psychology, Queen’s University
Belfast. She and her team have
been awarded an Innovation
research grant by Parkinson’s UK
to see how gaming technology,
such as the Nintendo Wii,
could help improve movement
performance in people with
Parkinson’s. Professor Craig and
her team are also using this
funding to develop bespoke
movement based games that
take the needs of people with
Parkinson’s into account, along
with other tools that use the
power of gaming technology,
such as the Wii-mote, to monitor
symptoms (e.g. tremor).
