Usage guide Depending on the absorbency of the substrate: 150-300 g/m² Application The substrate must be dry (in concrete, the residual moisture in the upper 2 cm must be < 5 %), sound and free from any material that would hinder adhesion. Prepare the substrate according to Technical Information Tl 21 - Substrate Preparation. The priming recommendations should be followed. Warning: KEMPERTEC ® 1K-Primer is not appropriate for every substrate! Apply only when substrate and ambient temperatures exceed 5 °C and are declining. During application the surface temperature must be 3 °C above the dew point. If the substrate temperature is below or at the dew point temperature then moisture can form at the surface which can affect coating adhesion and cure. (Please refer to DIN 4108 - 5 Tab.1 for a dew point graph). Prime in one operation until the pores are closed. Distribute with a nylon roller so that material accumulation is avoided. Otherwise the substrate may be dissolved. After approximately 1 hour (depending on weather conditions, such as wind, ambient temperature and humidity) and provided that the primed surface is tackfree and dry, further suitable KEMPER SYSTEM products can be applied. This must be completed within the next 48 hours or separating effects may
occur. To avoid these separating effects, we recommend sanding the fresh KEMPERTEC ® 1K-Primer with KEMPERTEC ® NQ 0408 Natural Quartz (approx. 2kg/m²). Otherwise, it is necessary to re-prime after 48 hours. Personal protective equipment should be worn. Clean the tools immediately after use with KEMPERTEC ® MEK Cleaning Agent. Clean your hands and rub KEMPER SYSTEM skin care cream into the skin. Remark Please consider the following technical information: - TI 21 - substrate preparation - TI 23 - solvent-based products Caution: Bitumenous substrates can be dissolved, therefore material accumulation (puddles) must be avoided. Important notice The safety data sheets, identification of the units, hazard warnings and safety recommendations on the units must be observed during transportation, storage and application. The BG-Chemie technical information must be observed for application. Do not allow into the sewer system or into the ground. Cannot be used in swimming pools!
