<strong>Hanoverian</strong> News<br />

Stella Hagelstam became <strong>the</strong> Finnish dressage<br />

champion. She rode Soraya II by Sandro<br />

Hit/Donnerhall (breeder: Wilhelm Borchers,<br />

Gross-Lessen). <strong>The</strong> bay mare had<br />

participated in Verden’s summer auction in<br />

2006 where <strong>the</strong> dressage rider discovered<br />

her.<br />

Donatha S by Donnerhall/Pik Bube (breeder:<br />

Klaus Lahmann, Dassendorf) is enjoying<br />

time as a broodmare in Rheinberg. Master<br />

trainer Dr. Uwe Schulten-Baumer bought<br />

<strong>the</strong> chestnut mare on Verden’s elite auction<br />

in <strong>the</strong> spring of 1998. <strong>The</strong> now eighteenyear<br />

old was one of Germany’s best dressage<br />

horses with rider Ellen Schulten-Baumer.<br />

She competed at <strong>the</strong> European<br />

Championships in La Mandria and in Windsor.<br />

<strong>The</strong> sire of her filly Jule is <strong>the</strong> KWPN-sire<br />

Jazz who is a highly successful competitor<br />

himself.<br />

A wild card was applied for Connaisseur by<br />

Con Amore/Donnerhall (breeder: Fenna<br />

Schulte-Landwehr, Suddendorf), a youngster<br />

who was born in Hanover, is owned by<br />

Canadians and is ridden by a Dutch competitor.<br />

<strong>The</strong> wild card is for participation at <strong>the</strong><br />

World Championships for young dressage<br />

horses in Verden. <strong>The</strong> five-year old started<br />

his career as a breeding stallion in <strong>the</strong> Swedish<br />

National Stud Flyinge after his approval<br />

in Westphalia and before dressage competitor<br />

Emmelie Scholtens took him in<br />

training.<br />

Espoir (VA)<br />

Sebastian Adams tacked up Espoir by Escudo/Calypso<br />

II (breeder: Eberhard Jordan, Ehra-Lessien)<br />

for participation in <strong>the</strong> Gold Tour<br />

on <strong>the</strong> first weekend in Gera. <strong>The</strong> pair placed<br />

third in a time and fault jumper class.<br />

Ex escudo orior<br />

Ex escudo orior by Escudo/Calypso II (bree-<br />

der: Hinrich Bartels, Wittingen) and rider Udo<br />

Kloetzel placed fifth in <strong>the</strong> opening jumper<br />

class at <strong>the</strong> international Amateur-Tour in<br />

Spangenberg. <strong>The</strong> pair won a speed class and<br />

took a second place in a two-phase jumper<br />

class for <strong>the</strong> SML-Trophy in <strong>the</strong> first week of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Summer Meeting in Gera.<br />

Felix XXVIII<br />

Felix XXVIII by Forsyth/Waldstern (breeder:<br />

Gestüt Pfaffenau, Biblis) placed third in a<br />

speed class with rider Marie Pellegrin-Etter at<br />

<strong>the</strong> CSI in Fontainebleau/France. Bernd Herbert<br />

who also discovered <strong>the</strong> unforgettable<br />

E.T. FRH trained <strong>the</strong> eight-year old.<br />

Fidji Island<br />

Katharina Offel participated with Fidji Island<br />

by For Feeling/Wanderer (breeder: Hinrich<br />

Löhden, Ahlerstedt) in <strong>the</strong> Derby of Drammen/Norway<br />

and placed fifth.<br />

Fit for Fun<br />

Fit for Fun by For Pleasure/Fabriano (breeder:<br />

Sigrid Crome-Sperling, Lutter a. Bbge.) enjoyed<br />

a fifth position in <strong>the</strong> final of <strong>the</strong> Youngster-Cup<br />

at <strong>the</strong> CHIO Aachen. This was <strong>the</strong> first<br />

competition in which rider Luciana Diniz had<br />

presented <strong>the</strong> state’s premium mare. She had<br />

received a score of 10,0 for her jumping style<br />

and ability in <strong>the</strong> mare performance test.<br />

Fligh High RD<br />

A fifth place in <strong>the</strong> final was <strong>the</strong> highlight for<br />

Fly High RD by For Pleasure/Landadel (breeder:<br />

Robert Diestel, Adelheidsdorf) and rider<br />

Carsten Averkamp at <strong>the</strong> Medium Tour of<br />

Steinhagen.<br />

Flotte Deern<br />

Denise Sulz rode Flotte Deern by Forsyth/<br />

Acord II (breeder: Hermann Meyer, Allwörden)<br />

into an excellent third place in <strong>the</strong> second<br />

qualification for <strong>the</strong> Grand Prix of Steinhagen.<br />

Fogerty<br />

Hans-Joern Ottens and his mount Fogerty by<br />

For Keeps/Rio Branco (breeder: Hinrich and<br />

Margareth Hashagen, Geestenseth) returned<br />

home to Ueterlande from <strong>the</strong> competition<br />

days in Steinhagen with two third-place ribbons.<br />

One was from <strong>the</strong> qualification of <strong>the</strong><br />

Medium Tour.<br />

Forry Deluxe<br />

Jan Wernke rode Forry Deluxe by For Pleasure/Landadel<br />

(breeder: Wilhelm and Heike<br />

Strunk, Bochum-Siepel) to victory in <strong>the</strong><br />

Youngster-Tour at Pforzheim/Germany. <strong>The</strong><br />

pair had placed forth in <strong>the</strong> qualification earlier<br />

on. <strong>The</strong> pair won <strong>the</strong> second qualification<br />

for rising youngsters in Spangenberg one<br />

week later. Seconds decided <strong>the</strong> winning ride<br />

in <strong>the</strong> final. Forry Deluxe placed third, two<br />

tenth of a second behind <strong>the</strong> winner.<br />

George<br />

One of <strong>the</strong> most important shows in Calgary/<br />

Canada is called “Canada One”. Jill Henselwood<br />

and his mount George by Garant/Don<br />

Juan (breeder: Carsten Wiedemann, Uelzen)<br />

finished in fifth place in a 1,60 m-jumper<br />

class.<br />

Gladiator S<br />

Only one pair remained faultless in <strong>the</strong> final<br />

of <strong>the</strong> SML-Tour Large on <strong>the</strong> first weekend<br />

in Gera: Gladiator S by Graf Top/Zaandam<br />

(breeder: Ulrich Schlichte, Eschede) and Kendall<br />

Lauren Kruger from Hong Kong.<br />

Gotha FRH<br />

Gotha FRH by Goldfever/ Prestige Pilot (breeder:<br />

Jan Minners, Jork) had a convincing performance<br />

in <strong>the</strong> Nation Prize of Rotterdam<br />

after having fallen at <strong>the</strong> German Championships<br />

in Balve. Gotha FRH and her rider Ludger<br />

Beerbaum helped <strong>the</strong> German quartet to<br />

be victorious ahead of Sweden and France<br />

with only one time fault.<br />

Graciella<br />

Graciella by Graf Top/Acord II (breeder: Siegfried<br />

Buhl, Syke) and rider Pius Schwizer had<br />

a fast round in a speed class with high prize<br />

money finishing in second place after ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

second place in <strong>the</strong> “Jump and Drive” in<br />

Aachen’s Soers.<br />

La Strada (Hess.)<br />

Bettina Eufinger rode La Strada by Lucky<br />

Luke/Furioso’s Sohn (breeder: Claudia and<br />

Thomas Weier, Brechen) into forth position in<br />

an accumulator class of <strong>the</strong> Amateur-Tour in<br />

Spangenberg.<br />

La Toya (VA)<br />

Sjaak Sleidering held his own on La Toya by<br />

Le Cou Cou/Argentinus (breeder: Wolfgang<br />

Michels, Lilienthal) against tough Dutch competition<br />

placing second in <strong>the</strong> Grand Prix of<br />

Sibculo/<strong>The</strong> Ne<strong>the</strong>rlands.<br />

Laetitia (VA)<br />

“Future champions” met up at <strong>the</strong> CSIO-J in
