Body heads 30mm. in diameter, grey-green often tinged amethyst, freely<br />

offsetting from <strong>the</strong> base and forming clumps 70-80mm. in diameter.<br />

Areoles elliptical, light brownish in colour.<br />

Spines often pectinate, about 10 radials, centrals absent Up to 10mm long,<br />

white tipped brown. Spines always slightly erect never appressed.<br />

This is one of <strong>the</strong> distinguishing features of Subsection II from<br />

subsection I Pygmaeae. (see analytical key to <strong>the</strong> Rebutia section)<br />
