ABSTRACT<br />

This project, of considerable importance in the agricultural industry for the<br />

use of organic materials for developing vegetable products with added<br />

value, was conducted at the University of San Buenaventura, Cali<br />

headquarters. Since it is an essential oil obtained from flowers of jasmine,<br />

which is physical-chemical tested in order to develop a formulation of<br />

interest Agroindustrial (Fragrance liquid).<br />

The technique used for the extraction of essential oil was hydrodistillation<br />

with an optimum time of 5 hours operation. We started an initial sample of<br />

2 kilos of wet flowers, previously selected pathogen free or foliar somatic<br />

alterations. Subsequently, dried temperature for 8 days to obtain a final<br />

weight of 500 g. At the end of the experiment was obtained an<br />

approximate volume of 1.5 ml Jasmine essential oil, which proceeded to<br />

use in developing agribusiness interests (perfume) of jasmine flowers.<br />

Later on after the lipid extract obtained in the laboratory, we proceeded to<br />

perform a pilot liquid formulation which was to make a mixture of several<br />

components: The essential oil obtained, alcohol whose function was to be<br />

the diluent, glycerin in this case acted as fixative Nonyl phenol ethoxylate<br />

(Arkopal), which is a surfactant that bind better helped aqueous and<br />

organic phase (essential oil) and finally distilled water. When fully stored<br />

refrigerated is better to concentrate the flavor.<br />
