En el 2001 las importaciones mundiales <strong>de</strong> conservas <strong>de</strong> pescado ascendieron a US$ 3060 millones, incrementándose a una tasa anual <strong>de</strong> 4,9% <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong><br />
1994, mientras que respecto al 2000 ascendió en 8%. Similarmente la <strong>de</strong>manda por las conservas <strong>de</strong> sardina creció a una tasa anual <strong>de</strong> 7,3% durante<br />
