1988, con la exaltación <strong>de</strong> la Diócesis a Arquidiócesis, la<br />
Catedral se convirtió en Catedral Metropolitana.<br />
With a Spanish renaissance style, it was built from 1797-1837. The ending of this work was informed<br />
by its constructor Mr. Juan Esteban Martinez y <strong>Fe</strong>rreiro on November 18th 1837. It was <strong>de</strong>signed by<br />
the Capuchin father Fray Domingo <strong>de</strong> Petrés. In 1988, the Cathedral became Catedral Metropolitana<br />
because it was elevated from the status of diocese to Archdiocese.<br />
