EL ABC DEL REBASE: Procura identificar con anticipación cualquier obstáculo en tu trayectoria, o un cruce que pueda obligarte a un cambio de carril. A. Antes de cambiar de carril, voltea y valora la situación del tránsito (tu velocidad y la de los demás vehículos, el espacio disponible para rebasar, el estado del pavimento, etcétera). No negocies la incorporación al carril con una motocicleta, un autobús o un camión, ya que a ellos les resulta más difícil reducir su velocidad para dejarte pasar. B. Prepara el cambio de carril adecuando tu velocidad a la del carril contiguo y posicionándote hacia la izquierda de tu carril antes de llegar al obstáculo. Haz evidente tu intención de cambiar de carril. C. Realiza el cambio de carril de manera suave, no repentina. Sepárate al menos 1.5 metros del obstáculo rebasado. NEGOCIA EL REBASE Puedes solicitar el paso a un conductor señalizando con la mano izquierda y posicionando tu bicicleta poco a poco dentro del flujo vehicular del carril al cual te pretendes integrar. El conductor estará respondiendo positivamente a tu solicitud de paso si suelta el acelerador y reduce la velocidad. Haz el movimiento sin titubear, de otra manera el conductor que te cedió el paso podría cambiar de opinión y volver a acelerar.
