1. The world may be a question of looks that create histories.
2. History does not exist unless it is told by all of the voices housed in a small
co-ordinate in space and time.
3. World History does not exist unless physical (contacts) or virtual (concepts
about the Other) relationships among the citizens of each place are studied.
4. National, local or small territory History does not exist either unless
relationships established between social classes and generations are
understood, as well as physical (contacts) or virtual (concepts).
5. The first foundation of an erroneous look at History is oblivion, such as of
those that put aside the voices of those that remain in anonymity.
6. The second foundation of an erroneous look at History is prejudices, like of
those that put aside the internal unease of a welfare society in order to build
the happy history of those that help to re-write a new history for the Third World.
7. To write History is to do so through the organs of the senses. He who forgets
taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing will be able to produce nothing other
than biased writings.
8. The look at History educates, because the organs of the senses are
teachable. It is the concept that is built through culture that serves as our guide
for perception.
9. The best way to teach the look at History is to do so by means of the
fragment. This breaks the glass of a discourse, opening up what is monstrous
to reflection – the small spaces of oblivion in each crack, the voices of those
who were never heard.
10. That is how the Narcissus author of historical writing, when learning about
the dark side of his being, can open himself up to the tolerance of those that
respect plurality in discourses.
