El tren trasandino abandona la estación y un país convulsionado por los resultados electorales adversos a Salvador Allen<strong>de</strong>. Uno <strong>de</strong> los pasajeros, Julio Cortázar escribe lo que será su texto <strong>de</strong> evocación <strong>de</strong> esa tierra que lo acogió como un joven profesor universitario a mediados <strong>de</strong> los años cuarenta. Durante el viaje, como flashbacks, se suce<strong>de</strong>n momentos <strong>de</strong> la estadía <strong>de</strong>l joven Cortázar en Mendoza coinci<strong>de</strong>nte con los inicios <strong>de</strong>l peronismo: su actividad académica, el entusiasmo inicial y el rápido <strong>de</strong>sencanto que le provocan los contubernios universitarios y el contexto político, y, finalmente, los sucesos <strong>de</strong> la toma <strong>de</strong> la Universidad, su renuncia y posterior partida a Buenos Aires. Mediante recursos como la teatralización <strong>de</strong> situaciones, entrevistas y uso <strong>de</strong> material <strong>de</strong> archivo, se <strong>de</strong>sarrolla la experiencia <strong>de</strong> Julio Cortázar en la integración a un grupo <strong>de</strong> artistas e intelectuales <strong>de</strong> Mendoza con quienes compartió su vida cotidiana. Se muestra su amistad y comunión con el artista plástico Sergio Sergi y su familia, relación que influyó en la formación y estilo <strong>de</strong>l Cortázar. Sobre el fondo <strong>de</strong>l grabado Jaque Mate <strong>de</strong> su padre, Fernando Sergi concluye el relato. Néstor Moreno (Director y productor) nació en San Rafael, Mendoza en 1960. Estudió Cine y Televisión en el Orange Coast College, California, EE.UU. Se <strong>de</strong>sempeñó como editor, supervisor <strong>de</strong> postproducción, director y productor para empresas como DirecTV Latin America por más <strong>de</strong> doce años. Fue gerente <strong>de</strong> postproducción en el Centro <strong>de</strong> Broadcast <strong>de</strong> DirecTV Latin America; diseñador <strong>de</strong> imagen, gerente <strong>de</strong> postproducción y director/productor en diversos Mundiales FIFA. Con su productora 24pfilm, con base en Mendoza, provee y exporta servicios <strong>de</strong> producción y postproducción a clientes tales como Directv Latin America, Jetix Latin America, Wave Entertainment Network, entre otros. Dirigió comerciales, conciertos en vivo, los vi<strong>de</strong>oclips Tu pa´mi y Los cangrejos <strong>de</strong> Karamelo Santo, Rendido a tus pies <strong>de</strong> Due Due y I just want <strong>de</strong> Priscilla Eve, y el documental De idas y vueltas (2008). Es Presi<strong>de</strong>nte <strong>de</strong> la Asociación Mendocina <strong>de</strong> Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (AMCAA). Es Productor Ejecutivo <strong>de</strong>l Festival <strong>de</strong> Cine Digital “Toxic Vi<strong>de</strong>os”. Sergio F. Romero (Guionista y productor) nació en Zárate, Buenos Aires, en 1963 y en 1977 se mudó a Mendoza. Es licenciado en Ciencias Sociales y Humanida<strong>de</strong>s, con maestrías en curso en Psicoanálisis y Comunicación. Comenzó a <strong>de</strong>sempeñarse como asistente <strong>de</strong> producción en 1986 en Canal 11 <strong>de</strong> Buenos Aires. Fue asistente, productor y coordinador <strong>de</strong> producción en diversas producciones <strong>de</strong>l canal. Produjo y escribió vi<strong>de</strong>os educativos, institucionales, empresariales, industriales, documentales <strong>de</strong> corte social, programas culturales y piezas <strong>de</strong> vi<strong>de</strong>o-arte, algunas <strong>de</strong> las cuales fueron seleccionadas y exhibidas en Austria y Finlandia. En el ámbito periodístico y literario escribió y publicó poesía y artículos periodísticos en revistas nacionales. En los últimos años, realizó investigaciones para el <strong>de</strong>sarrollo <strong>de</strong> proyectos documentales para cine y TV, como Eastern tango (NM productions, 2004). Participó como guionista y productor asociado en el documental De idas y vueltas (Néstor Moreno, 2008). Sinopsis Los An<strong>de</strong>s, Chile, 1973. The Trasandino train leaves the station of a country in turmoil as the election results have been unfavorable for Presi<strong>de</strong>nt Salvador Allen<strong>de</strong>. One of the passengers is Julio Cortázar. He is writing what will later become a piece about his memories of that land, which adopted him as a young professor in the 1940s. During the trip, we see flashbacks of the times of young Cortázar in Mendoza, at the beginning of the Perón era—his activities at university, his initial enthusiasm, and his quick disillusionment with university politics and the general political context, and, finally, the occupation of the university, and then quitting his job and leaving for Buenos Aires. Through various resources including dramatization, interviews and stock footage, we can see Julio Cortázar’s experience as he joins a group of artists and intellectuals in Mendoza which becomes part of his daily routine. We will be introduced to artist Sergio Sergi, with whom Cortázar shared i<strong>de</strong>as and cultivated a friendship. His relationship with the Sergi family influenced Cortázar’s <strong>de</strong>velopment and style. With Sergi’s engraving Jaque Mate as the background, his son Fernando tells the end of the story. He has been a postproduction manager for the Broadcast Center of DirecTV Latin America; he also worked as an image <strong>de</strong>signer, postproduction manager and director/producer for numerous FIFA Championships. His Mendoza-based production company 24pfilm <strong>de</strong>livers and exports production and postproduction services to such clients as DirecTV Latin America, Jetix Latin America, Wave Entertainment Network, among others. He directed ads, live concerts, the music vi<strong>de</strong>os Tu pa´mi and Los cangrejos by Karamelo Santo, Rendido a tus pies by Due Due and I just want by Priscilla Eve, and the documentary De idas y vueltas (2008). He is the presi<strong>de</strong>nt of AMCAA, Mendoza’s film association. He’s the executive producer of the Digital Film Festival “Toxic Vi<strong>de</strong>os.” Sergio F. Romero (Scriptwriter & Producer) was born in Zárate, Buenos Aires, in 1963 and moved to Mendoza in 1977. He has a <strong>de</strong>gree in Social Sciences and Humanities and is taking masters in both Psychoanalysis and Communication. He started his career as an assistant producer in 1986 at TV Canal 11 channel of Buenos Aires, and ma<strong>de</strong> his way as an assistant, producer, and production coordinator in different productions. He also wrote and produced educational and corporate image vi<strong>de</strong>os, documentaries on social issues, cultural TV shows, and vi<strong>de</strong>o-art pieces, some of which have been exhibited in Austria and Finland. In the field of journalism and literature, he has written and published poetry and articles in magazines. In the last few years, he carried out research for film and TV documentary projects including Eastern Tango (NM productions, 2004).
