Introducción<br />
- Los analgésicos opiáceos se pue<strong>de</strong>n clasificar según su capacidad<br />
analgésica en:<br />
1. Analgésicos poco potentes: co<strong>de</strong>ína, y <strong>de</strong>xtropropoxifeno.<br />
2. Analgésicos con actividad intermedia: pentazocina, y tramadol.<br />
3. Analgésicos potentes: buprenorfina, fentanilo, morfina.<br />
- Buprenorfina pue<strong>de</strong> ser administrado vía sublingual como<br />
tratamiento sustituto en personas adictas a opiáceos, pero también<br />
vía transdérmica para el tratamiento <strong>de</strong>l dolor.<br />
- Buprenorfina esta disponible en forma <strong>de</strong> parche para<br />
administración por vía transdérmica en pacientes con dolor crónico.<br />
Estos parches solamente son útiles en pacientes con dolor estable,<br />
ya que las concentraciones plasmáticas y el efecto se modifica<br />
lentamente al aplicar o retirarlos. Se logra <strong>de</strong> nuevo la máxima<br />

ALERTA.<br />
Este medicamento ha sido retirado <strong>de</strong> los mercados <strong>de</strong><br />
Australia, Canada, Nueva Zelanda, Reino Unido, Alemania y<br />
Argentina por riesgo <strong>de</strong> hepatotoxicidad severa. La Agencia<br />
Europea <strong>de</strong>l Medicamento ha solicitado a todos sus paises<br />
miembros retirar <strong>de</strong>l mercado este compuesto. FDA no ha<br />
aprobado su uso en territorio estadouni<strong>de</strong>nse.<br />
