Las riquezas naturales y culturales de Honduras se han
agrupado en rutas turísticas que resaltan la naturaleza y
aventura, sol y playa, el mundo colonial, la arqueología,
agroturismo y las culturas vivas en un bello y paradisíaco
país. A continuación se resalta la diversidad que ofrece
Honduras recorriendo regiones geográficas, ciudades,
parques nacionales, zonas de reserva, entre otros, y destacando
la esencia de la oferta turística.

ROUTES
The natural and cultural riches of Honduras have been
grouped into tourist routes that highlight nature and adventure,
sun and beach, the colonial world, archeology, agritourism,
and living cultures in a beautiful and heavenly country.
In the following pages you will find the diversity offered by
Honduras throughout its geographic regions, cities, national
parks, reserved areas, among others, and highlighting the
essence of tourism the country offers.
Mundo
Maya
Conocido también como la Ruta Maya, el recorrido por el
Mundo Maya abarca 100 sitios arqueológicos de México,
Belice, Guatemala, El Salvador y Honduras. Declarado
Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1980,
Copán es una de las grandes ciudades-estado del período
clásico de la civilización Maya y se le conoce como el París
del mundo Maya. El Parque Arqueológico de Copán, en
Copán Ruinas, es el sitio donde la civilización Maya
alcanzó su máximo esplendor científico. El Parque Arqueológico
de Copán alberga la más grande colección de
inscripciones jeroglíficas y monumentos de piedra, así
como una de las más finas arqueologías precolombinas del
mundo.
The Mayan
World
Known as the Mayan Route, the Maya World covers 100
archaeological sites in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador
and Honduras. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in
1980, Copan is one of the great city-states of the Classical
Period of the Mayan civilization and is known as the Paris of
the Mayan world. The Archaeological Park of Copan, in
Copan Ruins, is the place where the Mayan civilization
reached its maximum scientific splendor. The archaeological
park of Copan houses the largest collection of hieroglyphic
inscriptions and stone monuments, as well as one of the
finest pre-Columbian archeology in the world.
