Leading Learning:
Instructional Techniques for
Trainers
Research indicates that people learn best by doing—this also
applies to training programs. The challenge for those who lead
learning is how to incorporate active learning into their
training design and delivery. This workshop focuses on
techniques and strategies to: plan a training initiative; open a
training session; impart learning without lecturing; sequence
learning activities to ensure an effective mix and flow; and,
conclude a training session with an emphasis on knowledge
transfer—applying the learning back on the job.
Participants will learn and practice a variety of core techniques
to lead adult learning. In addition, ample opportunity will be
available to apply these techniques and strategies to the subject
matter they teach (or to realistic training examples provided by
the seminar leader).
Audience
This workshop is ideal for beginning instructors or those with
limited exposure to planning and leading training sessions
