Description of the modelElectric indoor helicopterThe Apache RC helicopter is modelled after the Apache AH-64 Longbow helicopter. The model, similar to its great archetype, likewise permits control around two major axes so that vertical climbing and descent, turning flight as well as the flightdirections forwards and backwards are possible.Acrobatic ability and top speed were dispensed with in the development of this model, since these features are onlyof subordinate significance for an indoor helicopter. Instead the model was conceived to be distinguished by its simplehandling, stable hover flight and precise response to the control. These properties are indispensable for a model helicopterdeveloped for indoor flights.Instead of the individual principal rotors with four rotor blades of the Apache AH-64 Longbow, the model consequently hastwo coaxially ordered rotors with an opposed direction of rotation. In this principle the torques of the two principalrotors of the fuselage are mutually cancelled, the model therefore does not turn around thevertical axis and therefore manages to stabilise the flight direction without a tail rotor. The tailrotor on the model has no function. The upper rotor with a fixed angle of incidence of the rotor blades serves as the bearing rotorand ensures the lifting effect. A paddle bar with centrifugal weights stabilises the rotation. Thecentrifugal weights are found on the two ends of the paddle bar, in the plane of rotation of theprincipal rotor and vertical to the longitudinal axis of the rotor blades.Paddle barwith centrifugal weightsThe large distance of the bearing rotor to the model aircraft’s centre of gravity ensures arelatively intrinsically stable flight position. The lower rotor is the steering rotor, with the change of direction carried out by a change of the speed compared to thebearing rotor (tail) and the angle of incidence of the rotor blades (roll). The steering rotor is also stabilised with a paddle barwith centrifugal weights.Tail rotor(no function)Paddle barwith centrifugal weightsSteering rotorBearing rotorCabin hoodTail beamLipo battery and battery charger with plug adapterVersion 09/07CARSON Apache 4<strong>CH</strong> 5070007
