Anlässlich des 12. Kongresses der Union Sportive Internationale des Polices (USIP), der am 17. Februar in Kuwait stattfand, wurde zwischen der USIP und der USPE ein Kooperationsvertrag unterzeichnet. Der zuvor neu gewählte Präsident der USIP, Major General Scheich Ahmad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah und USPE-Präsident Luc Smeyers sowie die beiden Generalsekretäre Wlodzimierz Cias und Dietmar Schönhoff unterzeichneten das Dokument, mit dem eine freundliche Kooperation zwischen den beiden Sportverbänden beschlossen wurde. On the occasion of the 12 th Congress of the Union Sportive Internationale des Polices (USIP), taking place in Kuwait-City on February 17 th 2010, a cooperation agreement between the USIP and the USPE was signed. The recently new elected president of USIP, Major- General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and USPE President Luc Smeyers with both Secretary-General Wlodzimierz Cias and Dietmar Schönhoff signed the document with the objective to consolidate and deepen the friendly cooperation between the two sports associations. Le président de l’USIP nouvellement élu, le Major Général Cheikh Ahmad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah et le Président de l’USPE Luc Smeyers ainsi que les deux secrétaires généraux Wlodzimierz Cias et Dietmar Schönhoff ont signé le document par lequel une coopération amicale entre les deux fédérations sportives a été décidé. Während des Kongress wurden mit Simon Géza aus Ungarn und Sandro Dirckx aus den Niederlanden zwei der drei Vizepräsidenten der USIP aus dem europäischen Bereich gewählt. Beide werden sich wie der neue Präsident für eine Weiterentwicklung der USIP und der Verbesserung der Beziehungen zur USPE einsetzen. Der Kongress der USIP war eingebettet in die 1. Polizeiweltmeisterschaft im Schießen, an der 379 Schützen aus 38 Ländern teilnahmen. Die Meisterschaft wurde eingeleitet durch eine eindrucksvolle Eröffnungszeremonie, an den folgenden Tagen sahen die Zuschauer auf der olympischen Ansprüchen voll gerecht werdenden Schießanlage etwas außerhalb von Kuwait-Stadt hervorragende Wettkämpfe. Alle Teilnehmer waren begeistert von der Organisation und Gastfreundschaft der kuwaitischen Kolleginnen und Kollegen. During the Congress two of three of the newly elected USIP Vice-presidents come from Europe, namely Simon Géza of Hungary and Sandro Dirckx from the Netherlands. Both will apply together with the new president for a further development of the USIP and the improvement of relationship with the USPE. The Congress of the USIP was included in the first Police World Shooting Championship, which was attended by 379 shooters from 38 different countries. The championship was introduced by a most impressive opening ceremony. On the following days the spectators could see outstanding matches on the shooting range meeting Olympic standards, just outside Kuwait City. All participants were overwhelmed by organization and hospitality of Kuwaiti colleagues. Deux des trois vice-présidents élus lors du congrès, à savoir Simon Géza de Hongrie et Sandro Dirckx des Pays-Bas, sont originaires de la communauté européenne. Ensemble avec le nouveau président, tous les deux se sont engagés pour le développement de l’USIP et l’amélioration des relations avec l’USPE. Le Congrès de l’USIP avait été intégré dans le Premier Championnat Mondial de Police de Tir, auquel ont participé 379 tireurs de 38 pays. Le championnat a débuté par une cérémonie d’ouverture impressionnante et les jours suivants les spectateurs ont vu des compétitions prestigieuses sur une enceinte de tir qui satisfaisait entièrement aux normes olympiques à la périphérie de Kuwait City. Tous les participants étaient enthousiasmés par l’organisation et l’hospitalité des collègues koweïtiens. www.uspe.org 43
