Centrimex donne de la
visibilité aux envois avec
Click & Track
Centrimex sera de retour à la SITL 2022 pour présenter
Click & Track, un outil de suivi des conteneurs, lors
d’expéditions maritimes.
L’objectif pour Centrimex
était d’offrir une visibilité à
ses clients sur le déroulé du
voyage de leurs conteneurs,
du chargement à l’arrivée. Avec
son outil “Click and Track”,
Centrimex partage et donne
cette visibilité directe au client
pour qu’il puisse suivre sa
marchandise de bout en bout.
Etre informé de potentiels
imprévus en temps réel via
une gestion d’alerte permet
au client d’anticiper et trouver
des solutions alternatives.
Cela permet aussi aux équipes
Centrimex d’agir en interne afin
de gérer ces aléas en lien avec
les compagnies maritimes,
notamment.
Le fonctionnement est simple :
l’interlocuteur Centrimex
communique le lien de tracking
au client, et ce dernier peut
suivre en direct l’évolution
de ses conteneurs en se
connectant à la plateforme de
Click & Track. Une interface
dédiée permet d’accéder à
toutes les informations.
Click & Track est disponible
uniquement pour le transport
maritime mais Centrimex veut
l’étendre aux autres modes de
transport comme l’aérien.

Centrimex boosts visibility
over shipments with Click &
Track
Centrimex is back at this year’s SITL to present Click &
Track, a tool to track maritime shipments.
Centrimex’s objective was to
give its clients visibility over
their container’s voyage from
start to finish - loading to
arrival. Its “Click and Track”
tool gives full visibility to the
client so that they can follow
their shipment every step of the
journey.
Staying informed about
possible delays via alerts in
real time allows clients to
make adjustments and find
alternative solutions. It also
gives the Centrimex teams the
chance to liaise with shipping
companies to address these
hazards.
The process is simple:
Centrimex’s agent
communicates the tracking
link to the client, who can
then follow their shipments’
progress in real time by
connecting to the Click & Track
platform. Its specially designed
interface gives them access to
all the relevant information.
Click & Track is only available
for maritime shipping, but
Centrimex is hoping to expand
it to other modes of transport
like air freight.

nouvelle référence de renom : grâce à son TMS chargeur Expedito,
TDI accompagne STANLEY Security, numéro 2 mondial de la sécurité
professionnelle, dans l’automatisation de son processus transport.
STANLEY Security équipe 90 000
sites en France. Afin d’approvisionner
son réseau en matériels électroniques
de vidéosurveillance, d’anti-intrusion,
de contrôle d’accès ou bien encore
d’incendie, la division du Groupe
Stanley Security & Decker dispose
d’une plateforme logistique centrale à
Vitrolles d'où partent chaque jour 400
colis et une moyenne de 6 palettes.
Désireux de libérer ses opérateurs,
le Groupe a automatisé l’édition des
étiquettes de transport et choisi
l’éditeur français TDI. Son TMS
chargeur Expedito a été installé fin
2019 à Vitrolles.
Expedito permet de créer des
expéditions, générer des étiquettes de
transport, d’assurer la communication
avec les transporteurs ainsi que le
tracking des expéditions. Avec un
taux d’erreurs et un temps passé à la
saisie de 400 étiquettes quotidiennes
fortement réduit. Le dispatch
automatique des ordres sur différents
transporteurs permet aussi d’optimiser
les expéditions et facilite le tracing et
le suivi des colis.

and logistic performance
The French developer TDI is back at SITL this year with a prestigious
new reference case: thanks to its TMS charger Expedito, TDI is
supporting STANLEY security, the second biggest professional
security company worldwide, automate its transport processes.
STANLEY Security equips 90,000 sites
across France. To keep its network
replenished in electronic equipment
for video surveillance, anti-intrusion
and access control, as well as fire
hazards, it relies on its Group Stanley
Security & Decker division which has
a central logistics platform in Vitrolles
from where 400 boxes and on average
6 pallets depart every day.
Eager to free its operators, the
Group has automated the printing of
shipping labels and has chosen the
French publisher TDI. Its TMX charge
Expedito was installed in Vitrolles at
the end of 2019.
Expedito allows you to create
shipments, generate transport
labels and communicate directly
with carriers, as well as tracking
shipments. This way, the error rate
and amount of time spent processing
400 daily labels is significantly
reduced. The automatic dispatch of
orders to different carriers also makes
it possible to optimise shipments
and facilitates tracing and tracking
packages.

Récemment arrivée à la tête de la Division
Transport & Logistique, Tourisme et Sport de
RX France, organisatrice de la SITL, Laurence
Gaborieau confie ses impressions à la veille
de l’ouverture de la SITL, une première dans
ses nouvelles fonctions. Un salon qui, dans
le difficile contexte que traverse l’Europe,
démontre l’importance vitale du secteur de la
logistique et des transports pour faire tourner
l’économie du continent.
Quel sentiment domine à quelques jours de l’ouverture
de cette édition de la SITL ?
Laurence Gaborieau - Nous restons confiants malgré
le contexte actuel. D’un côté, nous sommes très
heureux de retrouver les dates historiques et le hall 6
de Paris Nord Villepinte avec un salon de qualité tant
en termes d’exposants que de programmation. Comme
le gouvernement a annoncé récemment l’allégement
des mesures sanitaires, nous n'aurons plus le contrôle
du pass sanitaire en revanche le port du masque est
recommandé même si nous avons hâte de revoir les
visages et les sourires de nos exposants et de nos
visiteurs. Tout en respectant certains gestes barrières
qui font désormais partie de notre quotidien !

Mais d’un autre côté, le contexte actuel est humainement
et économiquement compliqué. Le secteur du transport
et de la logistique apparaît effectivement comme une
victime collatérale du conflit russo-ukrainien et souffre
de la hausse des prix des carburants, de certaines
routes qui se ferment. Voire aussi d’une pénurie de
personnel. Je veux donc réaffirmer que nous sommes
aux côtés des professionnels, aux côtés des plus de
500 exposants qui ont répondu présents - dont tous
les leaders du marché. Ces derniers vont présenter leur
savoir-faire et leurs innovations en matière de produits
et services à près de 23 000 visiteurs attendus.
Parlez-nous du programme de cette année. Quels
sont les points forts ?
Le programme de la SITL 2022 est extrêmement

devenu en quelques années une
valeur fondamentale du secteur et il
est normal que nous y consacrions
une partie de nos conférences et
ateliers. Le salon se composera de
huit univers : Services Transport
& Logistique; Intralogistique
Robotique & Automatisation;
Emballage, Conditionnement
& Palette; Technologies, IoT &
Systèmes d’Information; Energies
& Equipement de Transport;
Immobilier & Infrastructures
Logistiques; Sécurité, Sureté &
Cyber et enfin Chaîne du Froid.
Et parce que nous sommes un
lieu de rencontres, d'échanges et
de discussions, 150 conférences,
ateliers et exclusive talks sont
prévus durant les quatre jours.
La présentation sera d'ailleurs

Recently appointed to head up the Transport & Logistics,
Tourism & Fitness Healthcare divisions of RX France, the
organisers of SITL, Laurence Gaborieau shares her thoughts
on the eve of SITL’s opening, a first in her new role. A trade
show which, given the difficult context Europe is going through,
demonstrates the vital importance of the transport and logistics
sector in driving the continent’s economy.
What is the overriding feeling a
few days before the opening of this
edition of SITL?
Laurence Gaborieau - The feelings
are mixed given the current context,
but we want to remain optimistic
and confident. On the one hand,
we are happy to be back in hall
6 of Paris Nord Villepinte with
such a high quality show, both in
terms of the exhibitors and the
programme. As the government
recently announced the easing of
health measures, we will have the
pleasure of seeing the faces and
smiles of our exhibitors and visitors.
All while respecting certain barrier
measures which are now part of our
daily lives!
On the other hand, today’s context
is humanly and economically
complicated. Indeed, the transport
and logistics sector appears to be
a collateral victim of the Russian -
Ukrainian conflict, and is suffering
from the rise of fuel prices and
certain route closures, as well as
staff shortages. I would therefore
like to reaffirm that we will stand
behind our people, alongside
the 500 exhibitors who RSVPed
attending - including industry
leaders, who will present their know
how and innovations in terms of
products and services to around
20,000 visitors.
Tell us more about this year’s
programme. What are the
highlights?
SITL 2022's programme is
extremely rich with Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) being
a common thread. CSR has become
one of the sector's fundamental
values over the past few years and
it is therefore appropriate for us to
dedicate part of our conferences
and workshops to it. The show
is made up of eight 'universes',
including Transport & Logistics
Services; Intralogistics Robotics &
Automation; Packing, Packaging
& Pallet; Technologies, IoT &
Information Systems; Energy &
Transport Equipment; Real Estate &
Logistics Infrastructures; Security,
Safety & Cyber ​and finally Cold
Chain. These last two universes
are generally under represented,
so we are giving them all the space
they need during SITL 2022. Also
because we are all about meetings,
exchanges and discussions, there
are 150 conferences, workshops and
exclusive talks on offer over the four
days, presented by 20 renowned
speakers. As for CSR, there will be
around 30 events looking at the

La guerre en Ukraine
démontre l’esprit de solidarité
mais aussi d’innovation du
secteur, selon Laurence
Gaborieau.
Elle souligne par exemple la
mobilisation exemplaire et
le soutien des transporteurs
dont les camions sont partis
à destination de la Pologne
et de l’Ukraine pour apporter
vivres, médicaments, matériel
médical et nourriture aux
populations en grande
difficulté.
Mais l’Ukraine est aussi
l’occasion d’une réflexion sur
une sortie à plus long terme
des énergies fossiles.
Avec l’absence ou la
raréfaction du gaz ou du
pétrole, l’accélération de
nouveaux modes de transport
prend forme. Construire de
nouvelles chaînes logistiques
permettra de palier à la
pénurie. Et d’affirmer l’idée
que le secteur doit plus que
jamais joindre toutes les
forces en présence pour
travailler à un futur commun.
Dans le contexte actuel, comment
s’adapte le secteur du transport et
de la logistique ?
L’actualité russo-ukrainienne a un
impact direct sur le secteur du
transport. Qu’il s’agisse du transport
routier, ferroviaire, maritime ou
aérien et de la logistique tant au
niveau européen que mondial. Audelà
de cette flambée du pétrole
que subissent de plein fouet les
professionnels du secteur, les
sanctions occidentales vont avoir
des conséquences sur le secteur.
Des tensions apparaissent sur les
marchés suite à la suspension des
échanges commerciaux avec la
Russie et la perte de débouchés en
Ukraine. Certains axes sont fermés
comme par exemple l’axe ferroviaire
de la Route de la Soie ou encore
le port d’Odessa. Certains grands
consommateurs du rail se reportent
sur le maritime. Mais celui-ci est
déjà dans une situation tendue.
Pour aider les professionnels, le
gouvernement français a annoncé
un plan de résilience avec des
mesures allant du prêt garanti par
l’État aux reports de charges et au
retour de l’activité partielle. Quant
à nous, en tant qu’organisateurs,
nous soulignons l’importance de
travailler tous ensemble.
Les professionnels s’adaptent
d'ailleurs au jour le jour comme
ils ont su le faire pendant les
périodes de confinement que nous
avons connues ces deux dernières
années. Les différentes fédérations
travaillent sur des plans d'actions
et de résilience pour mitiger les
effets de la crise en Ukraine. En tout
cas, cette crise force à accélérer
les changements stratégiques
du secteur et à sa sortie à terme
des énergies fossiles. Les années
précédentes, il y avait encore
beaucoup d'expérimentation, nous
passons à marche forcée dans la
concrétisation. Et l'innovation sur
la SITL fait encore plus sens. Un
point à mon avis doit être noté, est
l'importance ou la nécessité de
travailler ensemble pour pouvoir
répondre rapidement et sereinement
aux différents enjeux donnés.
Vous venez de prendre la direction
de la SITL. Comment voyez-vous
l’évolution de la SITL au cours des
cinq prochaines années ?
Mon objectif à court terme est de
retrouver un nombre d’exposants
et de visiteurs équivalents à ceux
d’avant Covid et de continuer à
offrir un salon de grande qualité.
Je souhaite également construire
des relations étroites avec les
fédérations et les acteurs majeurs
du secteur pour renforcer la position
de la SITL et répondre aux attentes
des exposants et des visiteurs et
ainsi mettre en lumière toute la
richesse de ce secteur qui fait partie
du quotidien de chacun. Je découvre
ce secteur depuis à peine trois mois.
J’ai été très bien accueillie par les
professionnels que j’ai eu l’occasion
de rencontrer et je les en remercie.
J’en suis d’autant plus reconnaissante
car je souhaite incarner aussi la
féminisation de ce secteur. Il y a
22% de femmes sur le salon et cette
tendance est appelée à augmenter.
Les métiers évoluent, l'apport de
la digitalisation dans ce secteur va
offrir de nouvelles opportunités aux
femmes en particulier.
Quel est votre message pour
les professionnels de l’industrie
présents à la SITL ?
Nous sommes heureux d’accueillir
de nouveau les professionnels du
transport, de la logistique et de
la supply chain dans le hall 6 de
Paris Nord Villepinte. Nous avons
conscience que la période est
difficile et nous espérons que le
salon permettra à nos exposants de
mettre en avant leurs innovations
et leurs activités et de trouver de
nouveaux débouchés auprès de nos
visiteurs qualifiés. Et d'apprendre,
de s'orienter, de réfléchir au
futur de l'activité logistique avec,
cette indispensable transition
vers un secteur plus soucieux de
l'environnement.
LES QUATRE AXES D'AVENIR SUR LA SITL
LA SITL est le lieu d'échanges par
excellence des acteurs du transport
et de la logistique. Elle offre une
plateforme de toutes les innovations
du secteur, produits et services,
conférences et démonstrations
immersives, pour répondre à 4
grands enjeux à savoir :
LE 1 er AXE est la réduction de
l’empreinte environnementale via
des nouveaux outils simplifiant la
multimodalité, le déploiement de
véhicules propres, la réduction
des emballages ou la densification
des entrepôts permise par
l’automatisation.
LE 2 ème AXE thématique vise
l’amélioration des conditions de
travail des salariés en automatisant
les tâches pénibles ou répétitives
(« goods to man ») ou en utilisant
des outils digitaux (commande
vocale ou lumineuse).
D’où l’importance de la formation.
LE 3 ème AXE repose sur
l’augmentation des performances
des entreprises logistiques,
en améliorant la prédiction
des commandes via l’IA ou en
simplifiant les relations avec les
autres maillons de la chaine grâce
à la dématérialisation notamment.
De nouvelles solutions qui ont
émergé durant la crise sanitaire et
ont amplifié le développement de
nouveaux services.
LE 4 ème AXE de nouvelles réflexions
ou de nouvelles expérimentations
se mettent en place pour mieux
intégrer les activités sur les
territoires avec, par exemple, le
développement des consignes,
de la cyclologistique ou de la
production d’énergie par les
entrepôts.

as human resources.
Six major themed villages are
also being built, including new
sources of energy by AFGNV, rail
and combined freight, hazardous
goods, the start-up lab, real
estate logistics with AFILOG and
Showroom 360.
In this showroom, visitors will also
discover three different spaces and
have a unique experience within
immersive settings including the
Warehouse of the Future, Drone
Valley and the Circuit Test. In each
of these spaces, solutions will be
presented in working condition
to allow visitors to get to grips
with the latest innovations on the
market. Attendees can choose
from six tour routes with different
topics including green logistics,
secure logistics, multimodal
logistics, eco-responsible
warehouses, connected
warehouses and human-centric
warehouses. Finally, the 22nd
Innovation Prize will be awarded to
the best innovations in Transport
& Logistics while the 8th edition
of the Start-up Contest will honour
budding young talent within the
sector.
In the current context, how is the
transport and logistics sector
adapting?
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict
of course has a direct impact on
the transport sector concerning
road, rail, sea and air travel. It
also affects logistics at both a
European and global level. Beyond
the oil surge that is hitting industry
professionals, Western sanctions
will also have consequences for
the sector. Markets are starting
to experience tensions following
the ban on trading with Russia
and the loss of outlets in Ukraine.
Some transport links are closed
such as the Silk Road rail axis or
the port of Odessa. Certain major
rail consumers are switching to
shipping which is already in a
tense situation itself.
To help professionals, the French
government has announced a
resilience plan with measures
ranging from state-guaranteed
loans to repayment deferrals and
the ability to run at partial capacity.
As for us the organisers, we are

underlining the importance of
working together. Professionals are
continuing to adapt every day just
as they did during the lockdowns
of the past two years. Different
federations are working on action
and resilience plans to mitigate
the effects of the crisis in Ukraine.
In any case, this crisis forces us to
accelerate the strategic changes
of our sector and eventually
say goodbye to fossil fuels. We
are faced with this reality and
innovation has responded.
You have just taken the reins
at SITL. How do you see SITL
evolving over the next five years?
My short term objective is to
welcome the same number of
exhibitors and visitors as the event
did before Covid and to continue
to offer a high quality trade
show. I also hope to build close
relationships with federations
and major players in the sector
to strengthen SITL’s position and
meet the expectations of exhibitors
and visitors, thus highlighting the
breadth of this industry which is
part of our daily lives.
I discovered this sector barely
three months ago. I was very well
received by the professionals I
had the opportunity to meet and
I thank them for that. I am all the
more grateful because I also want
to represent the feminisation
of this sector. There are 22% of
women at the show and this trend
will increase. I’m proud to be a
part of this movement.
What is your message for industry
professionals attending SITL?
We are happy to welcome
transport, logistics and supply
chain professionals back to Hall
6 of Paris Nord Villepinte. We are
aware that this is a difficult time
and we hope that the show will
allow our exhibitors to showcase
their innovations and services and
find new outlets with our skilled
visitors. We also hope for them
to learn, find their bearings, think
about the future of logistics with,
I repeat, this essential transition
towards a sector that is more
concerned about the environment
in solidarity.
THE UKRAINE
EFFECT BETWEEN
INNOVATION AND
SOLIDARITY
The war in Ukraine
demonstrates the sector’s
spirit of solidarity but also
innovation, according to
Laurence Gaborieau. For
example, it highlights the
exemplary mobilisation and
support of transporters
whose trucks left for Poland
and Ukraine to bring food,
medicine, medical equipment
and food to populations
suffering great difficulty.
But Ukraine is also an
opportunity to reflect on a
longer term exit from fossil
fuels. With the absence or
scarcity of gas or oil, new
modes of transport are taking
shape more quickly. Building
new logistics chains will
make it possible to overcome
shortages. It also affirms the
idea that the sector must join
forces now more than ever to
work for a common future.
THE FOUR DEVELOPMENT PILLARS AT SITL
SITL is the place of exchange 'par
excellence' for players in transport
and logistics. It offers a platform
for all the innovations in the sector,
products and services, conferences
and immersive demonstrations,
allowing the industry to move
forward towards meeting 4 major
challenges:
THE 2 ND PILLAR aims to improve
employees’ working conditions by
automating painful or repetitive
tasks (goods to man) or by
using digital tools (voice or light
command). Hence the importance
of training.
THE 3 RD PILLAR is based on
increasing logistics companies’
performance by improving order
prediction via AI or by simplifying
relations with other links in the
chain thanks to dematerialisation in
particular – the new solutions that
emerged during the health crisis
and amplified the development of
new services.

La robotisation a fait diminuer
la pénibilité et aidé à créer de
nouveaux métiers dans la data et
IA. Le 5 avril, de 14:15 à 17:15, aura
lieu une conférence sur l’attractivité
des métiers, le maintien des
emplois et la stratégie à adopter.

Altens innove pour rendre le
transport fluvial encore plus
écologique
Leader européen dans le transport fluvial, la CFT est à l’avant-garde
dans la transition énergétique et la décarbonation de la voie d’eau.
L’armateur expérimente pendant six mois le biocarburant Altens PUR-
XTL.
Une première dans le transport
fluvial en France : la Compagnie
Fluviale de Transport (CFT) utilise
pour son automoteur “Sandre”, qui
approvisionne en ciment les centrales
à béton des bords de Seine, le
biocarburant PUR-XTL (norme EN
15940) d’Altens à la place de gazole.
« Le PUR-XTL est compatible avec
tous les moteurs diesel sans aucune
modification. Renouvelable, il est
fabriqué à partir de matières premières
comme les huiles de fritures usagées
et graisses animales », présentent
Etienne Vatel et Mohamed Bennama,
co-fondateurs d’Altens, premier
fournisseur français d’une gamme de
carburants alternatifs non-fossiles.
Certifié ISCC, le PUR-XTL est un
carburant alternatif Premium. Par
rapport au diesel, il réduit jusqu’à
90 % les émissions de gaz à effet de
serre, 65 % les particules ainsi que
les monoxydes de carbone et oxydes
d’azote. Le “Sandre” est également
très performant pour l’environnement.
Le véhicule permet de charger jusqu’à
1 000 tonnes de ciment par voyage,
l’équivalent de 37 camions !

transport even more ecological
A European leader in river transport, the CFT is at the
forefront of the energy transition and decarbonisation of
waterways. The shipowner has been experimenting with
Altens’ PUR-XTL biofuel for the past six month.
A first for river transport in
France: The Compagnie Fluviale
de Transport (CFT) is using
Altens PUR-XTL (norme EN
15940) instead of diesel to fuel
its self-propelled “Sandre”,
which supplies concrete plants
along the banks of the Seine
with cement. “The PUR-XTL is
compatible with every type of
diesel engine without needing
to make modifications. It is
renewable, made from raw
materials like used cooking oils
or animal fats”, say Etienne Vatel
and Mohamed Bennama, the
co-founders of Altens, leading
French supplier in a range of
alternative non-fossil fuels.
ISCC certified, PUR-XTL is
a premium fuel alternative.
Compared to diesel, it reduces
greenhouse gas emissions by
up to 90%, particles as well as
carbon monoxide and nitrogen
oxides by 65%. The “Sandre”
is also very efficient for the
environment. The vehicle can
load up to 1,000 tons of cement
per trip, the equivalent of 37
trucks!

Disponibilité des énergies alternatives et flambée des prix ; déploiement des
réseaux d’avitaillement et de recharge électrique ; production, coût et délais de
livraison des véhicules : la transition énergétique pose de très nombreuses
questions. Pour les transporteurs, difficile souvent de s’y retrouver et de savoir
quelle stratégie adopter d’autant qu’ils sont dépendants en la matière des
énergéticiens, des pouvoirs publics, des distributeurs et des constructeurs. Pour
cette conférence co-organisée avec la SITL, la Fédération Nationale des
Transports Routiers (FNTR) a souhaité réunir ces différents acteurs pour poser les
enjeux de la transition dans un contexte national et international inédit.
En un an, le prix du gaz – que beaucoup de transporteurs avaient privilégié pour la
conversion écologique de leur flotte et qui reste la seule réelle alternative mature
face au gazole – a augmenté de +869%! Beaucoup de transporteurs étant
contraints de laisser les camions au gaz sur parc, sous peine de rouler à perte.
Quelle énergie sera disponible en France dans les 5, 10, 20 prochaines années ?
Comment structurer un réseau d’avitaillement et de recharge électrique pertinent
? Comment et quels véhicules produire ? A quel prix ? Comment seront répartis
les efforts en matière de financement entre les différents acteurs ? Quel rôle pour
l’Etat ?

Après l’entrée en vigueur des règles de l’OMI le 1er janvier 2020, la décarbonation
du transport maritime s’accélère. Les prochaines étapes de OMI 2030, OMI 2050
amènent les opérateurs de la chaîne logistique à se pencher sur les innovations
pour le transport maritime. Les armateurs investissent dans la R&D, les
commissionnaires et les chargeurs doivent prendre en compte l’empreinte
carbone des transports. Et les ports devront jouer un rôle dans la fourniture des
futurs carburants alternatifs. Des interactions qui nécessitent que tous les acteurs
s’impliquent avec en filigrane le financement de ces infrastructures et de ces
nouveaux paradigmes logistiques.

With the entry into force of new IMO rules on 1 January 2020, the
decarbonisation of international shipping is accelerating. The next steps of IMO
2030 and IMO 2050 are leading supply chain operators to explore innovations
in shipping. Shipowners are investing in R&D, and freight forwarders and
shippers need to take into account the carbon footprint of transport. Ports will
also have to play a role in supplying future alternative fuels. These interactions
need everyone in the industry to get involved, with the underlying aim of
financing this infrastructure and new logistics paradigms.

délaissé, retrouve de la rigueur. Sûre, ponctuelle, très peu consommatrice
d’énergie à l’unité transportée, la barge n’a que des avantages. Elle est en
train de moderniser sa motorisation afin d’émettre moins de particules dans
l’air des villes. Le canal Seine-Nord sera un appel d’air. La Chatière va enfin

The time is ripe for mass transport. In particular, inland waterway transport, which
has been overlooked for a long time, is making a comeback. River barges offer major
advantages, including safe and punctual transport, with extremely low energy use
per unit transported. The industry is modernising its engines to emit fewer particles
into city air, the future Seine-North Canal will mark a major turning point for the
sector, and a new channel for inland waterway traffic is being dredged at Le Havre.
