Upgrading existing MASGO system
to support the current and future
business and operational needs
of MASkargo. Among others, the
new system will enable cargo
agents, shippers and freight forwarders
direct access to a number
of e-commerce functionalities,
such as electronic bookings,
electronic track and trace system,
and electronic documentation.

Collaborated with nine other Asian
carriers to set up Travel Exchange
Asia (TEA), a virtual travel agent
that offers e-distribution services.
TEA will enable customers to book
and purchase airline tickets, hotel
rooms, make reservations for car
rentals and holiday packages via
the internet.

As a designated carrier, Malaysia
Airlines’ wholly owned subsidiary,
MASkargo Sdn Bhd (MASkargo),
mounted 16 charter services to
handle the movement of Formula
1 race cars at both circuits of the
F1 races in Melbourne, Australia
and Sepang, Malaysia. It was also
commissioned to transport FIM
500 Grand Prix motorcycles for the
races in Sepang and in Europe.

In addition, it operated 23 charter
flights to transport highly sophisticated
Wafer Fabrication machines
from Japan and the USA to
Kuching, Malaysia for the setting
up of the 1st Silicon wafer factory
in Malaysia.

Penang was reintroduced in
MASkargo’s network with a total of
14 weekly B747 freighter services
mounted to operate:
•
five times weekly on Penang/
Kansai, Japan/Penang
•
two times weekly on Penang/
Seoul/Penang
•
six times weekly to Amsterdam
•
once a week from Hong Kong
