SS1095 The Challenges of Priestly and religious
formation today (5 ECTS)
CHARLES SERRAO
The task of forming the candidates for priestly and religious
life is rather a complex one in this technological, materialistic
and globalizing world. Formation is a process in which exploration
– the charism of the institution and of the individual takes
place. It is a lifelong work and part of painful purification. This
seminar deals mainly on: formation in general; nature of vocation;
fundamental aspects of priestly and religious formation
today; and some criteria to discern the vocation to priestly and
religious life in a candidate.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer è senza dubbio il teologo tedesco del XX
secolo più noto al mondo. A oltre sessant’anni dalla sua morte,
per la cultura teologica e filosofica – anche quella più distante
dalle Chiese – egli continua a rappresentare uno stimolo costante
per il ripensamento della tradizione cristiana e dei suoi rappor-
