segna di bandana e bicchiere celebrativo di “Un mare di
birra 2011”, che hanno contribuito a far sentire tutti, da
subito, uniti, appartenenti alla stessa passione. E poi il
pub aperto fin dalle nove del mattino sul ponte piscina
per il Breakfast Pub, e ancora le numerose presentazioni e
degustazioni, gli incontri a numero chiuso per conoscere
tutti i segreti sulla produzione della birra artigianale, guidate
dai beer taster, lo sbarco a Barcellona con l’evento a
terra in un famoso pub per uno scambio cultural-birrario
in compagnia di mastri birrai spagnoli, la possibilità di
godere di tutti i servizi della nave, come il casinò o la
spa, e infine l’Afterhour Pub che continuava a versare nei
bicchieri fino alle 5 del mattino. E poi tanta musica, da
ballare, da cantare, grazie ai dj set del Circolo degli Artisti,
altro luogo simbolo del divertimento della capitale, altro
luogo di passioni, che ha accettato di offrire il proprio
contributo musicale a bordo, creando la colonna sonora
delle sorsate più gustose. Durante i quattro giorni con
“Un mare di birra” c’è stata anche l’occasione per premiare
il miglior mastro birraio d’Italia, che dai responsabili del
portale Fermento Birra è stato individuato in Valter Lovelier;
ma anche i novelli, i coraggiosi e curiosi che scelgono
di produrre birra tra le pareti domestiche con un semplice
kit, hanno avuto un momento interamente dedicato a
loro, con la premiazione del miglior homebrewer. Giorni
intensi e leggeri insomma, frizzanti col vento della sera
ma densi di sole che annunciava l’estate, giorni pieni e
gustosi, proprio come un buon bicchiere di birra artigianale.
Giorni indimenticabili.

The organisation of the minicruise was carefully planned
down to the last detail. When they first boarded, the
guests were welcomed with a complimentary Sea of
Beer souvenir bandana and glass; this helped everyone
enter into the spirit of things from the word go. The
fittingly named Breakfast Pub was open on deck from
9 am and there were a host of presentations, beertasting
events and exclusive workshops revealing all the
secrets of home brewing. The beer fest continued ashore
with a cultural exchange in Barcelona in one of the
city’s best known pubs in the company of top Spanish
Master Brewers. Meanwhile, throughout the mini-cruise,
Guests were able to make the most of all the ship’s
amenities like the casino, the spa and the Afterhour
Pub, which served patrons until 5 am. There was also
lots of music, singing and dancing, courtesy of the DJ
mix sets from the Circolo degli Artisti, another Roman
venue synonymous with passion and entertainment,
which provided live performances onboard. The 4-day
theme cruise was also used to award a number of
prizes: Valter Lovelier was adjudged Italy’s best Master
Brewer by the Fermento Birra portal; there was also
an award for the best home brewer (for production
using an elementary beer making kit). The days were
busy but carefree, brisk with the evening breeze but
sunny with a foretaste of summer during the day –
every moment was worth savouring, just like a glass
of top quality craft beer. Simply unforgettable!
