Gestisce uno studio di progettazione per la creazione di grandi e piccoli giardini, in tutto il Regno Unito e all’estero. È conosciuto per la sua capacità di creare giardini che si inseriscono perfettamente nel loro ambiente, che meglio si adattano allo stile e all’epoca dell’abitazione e alle esigenze dei suoi clienti. Ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui quattro medaglie d’oro al Chelsea Flower Show. Ampiamente considerato all’interno del mondo del garden design come progettista innovativo, è regolarmente citato come fonte di ispirazione dai media. Egli è anche un autore di successo: ha scritto 24 libri molto venduti e innumerevoli articoli per giornali e riviste. Svolge attività didattica nel Regno Unito e all’estero. Gestisce una scuola di design in Argentina. Christian Dobrick - West8 (NL) Nato a Berlino, Christian Dobrick si è laureato in Architettura del Paesaggio presso l’Università di Essen. Durante i suoi studi partecipò in vari bandi, sia nazionali che internazionali, collaborando con diversi studi a Ruhrgebiet. Diventò head designer e poi managing director presso Rheims and Partner, Krefeld (Germania). Insieme ad altri professionisti, partecipò con successo a vari concorsi. Ha progettato molti spazi verdi e giardini pubblici. All’inizio del 2006, entra a far parte dello studio West 8 Urban Design & Landscape Architecture come Project Manager e Landscape Architect, specializzato in architettura del paesaggio e nella progettazione dei spazi pubblici. Tra i suoi lavori più prestigiosi sono Madrid RIO, al centro di Madrid, Spagna e il Parco Santa Giulia, Milano, Italia. John Brookes has designed and built well over 1000 gardens during a career spanning 50 years. He is as active as ever and runs an extremely busy design practice, creating gardens large and small, all over the UK and abroad. He is best known for his ability to create gardens that relate to their environment, designing gardens that fit into the wider landscape; that best suit the style and period of the house and the functional and stylistic aspirations of his clients. His extensive portfolio includes traditional English gardens both formal and informal, modern, minimalist, Islamic and wild gardens. He has won numerous awards throughout his career including 4 Gold medals at Chelsea. Widely regarded within the garden design world as an innovative and inspirational designer and plantsman, he is regularly quoted as a source of inspiration in the media. He is also a successful and prolific author, having written 24 best selling books, and countless articles for newspapers and magazines. He lectures on garden design in the UK and overseas and runs a design school in Argentina. Christian Dobrick graduated in landscape architecture from the University of Essen. During his studies he participated in many national and international competitions for studios from the Ruhrgebiet area. He became head designer, and later managing director, at Rheims & Partner in Krefeld (Germany). Together with other professionals he participated successfully in a number of workshops and competitions and has realized a number of important public spaces and gardens. In the beginning of 2006 he integrated with West 8 urban design & landscape architecture as Project Manager /Landscape Architect, specializing in landscape and public space design. Gabriele Kiefer (DE) Ha studiato architettura del paesaggio presso l’Università di Berlino e successivamente ha lavorato come assistente universitaria 1992. Nel 1989 ha fondato lo studio Büro Kiefer a Kreuzberg, Berlino e nel 2011 lo riorganizza dando il nome KieferCS insieme ai partner Tancredi Capatti e Matthias Staubach. Ha vinto vari concorsi per la sistemazione dei grandi spazi e piazze urbane. Lavorando come docente universitaria ha partecipato a vari convegni: San Francisco, Boston, Santiago del Chile, Montreal, Shenzhen, Parigi e Milano. Nel 2002, le è stata assegnata una cattedra in Architettura del Paesaggio all’Università di Braunschweig e dal 2011 tiene lezioni all’Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia. Gabriele G. Kiefer studied landscape architecture at the TU Berlin and worked there as an academic assistant from 1987 to 1992. 1989 she founded Büro Kiefer in Kreuzberg, Berlin; 2011 reorganised as KieferCS (partner: Tancredi Capatti, Matthias Staubach) Kiefer has been successful in many competitions for the conversion of large areas and urban squares. Lecturing jobs and exhibitions have taken Kiefer to locations including San Fransisco, Boston, Santiago de Chile, Montreal, Shenzhen, Paris and Milan. In 2002 Gabriele G. Kiefer was appointed to a Professorship for Landscape Architecture at the University of Braunschweig and since 2011 she has taught regularly at the Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia. Catherine Mosbach (FR) Laureata in Natural and Life Sciences e diplomata in Landscape Architecture (ENSP Versailles 1986). Apre il suo studio a Parigi nel 1987. Co-editrice e co-fondatrice della rivista Pages Paysages (1987). Realizza progetti paesaggistici unici a Monaco, negli USA, in Canada, in Cina, in Israel, nel Vietnam e in Francia. Premi: Trophée du Paysage (Ministero francese per l’ambiente e sviluppo, 1995) per le aree esterne della sede del gruppo Dolet, Issy-les-Moulineaux. Premio Rosa Barba (3° ed.) per il Giardino Botanico di Bordeaux. Premio nazionale per il paesaggio - Ministero francese per l’ambiente e sviluppo – per il giardino botanico (2007). Premio Emilio Ambasz per l’architetture del verde, parco del Musee Louvrelens 2011. Catherine Mosbach graduated in Natural and Life sciences and is a Landscape Architecture graduate of the ENSP, Versailles (1986). She opened her Landscape architecture practice in Paris in 1987. She is co-editor and -founder of the magazine Pages Paysages (1987). She has produced unique landscapes in Monaco, the USA, Canada, China, Israel, and Vietnam, as well as France. Awards: National recognition - the Trophée du Paysage - awarded by the French Ministry of the Environment and Development in 1995: special commendation for exterior spaces of the E. Dolet group in Issy-les-Moulineaux. The Rosa Barba Award for the Botanical Garden of Bordeaux, 3rd European Biennial Barcelona. National award of landscape by the French Ministry of the Environment and Development nominated for botanical garden, 2007. The Emilio Ambasz Award for green architecture for museum park Louvrelens, 2011.
Marco Pozzoli (IT) Nato a Firenze, laureato in Scienze Agrarie ed in Architettura. E’ stato responsabile interregionale (Toscana-Umbria-Emilia) dell’Ass. Italiana Architetti Paesaggisti da 1984 a 1986. Docente nel Master in Architettura dei Giardini e del Paesaggio della Facoltà di Architettura dell’Università di Firenze e nel Corso di Laurea in Gestione tecnica del Paesaggio dell’Università di Perugia. Progetta giardini per clienti privati e pubblici, sede aziendali, ente pubblici, ecc. Tra i concorsi vinti si segnalano: concorso internazionale per il nuovo ospedale di Bergamo in qualità di progettista del paesaggio per la sistemazione e l’inserimento ambientale del polo ospedaliero (2002 - primo classificato), concorso internazionale di idee per la valorizzazione fronte mare e zona bagni lido del comune di Rapallo (2006 - primo classificato). Marco Pozzoli, lives and works in Florence, graduate of Landscape Architecture and Agricultural Sciences, Registered Architect, A.I.A.P.P. and IFLA member. International designer, founder and director of the European School of Garden and Landscape Architecture at Villa Montalto. Interregional Head (Toscana, Umbra, Emilia Romagna) of the Italian Association of Landscape Architects in 1984-86. Presently Professor of “Landscape Design: Methods and Techniques” at Graduate School of Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Territory Department of Architecture, University of Genova and in Design Methods and Techniques of Green Areas at the Post Graduate Master School of Garden Architecture, Project and setting of landscape at the Faculty of Architecture - University of Florence, among other posts. Works for both private and public clients – company headquarters, public administration etc. In 2006 he won First Prize in the International Competition for development of the water front Rapallo (Liguria). In 2002 he was awarded First Prize in the International Landscaping Competition for the new hospital in Bergamo - environmental inclusion of the Main Hospital. Arend Jan van der Horst (NL) Nato nel 1943. Studia si laurea in Architettura del Giardino e del Paesaggio nel 1968. Successivamente fa esperienza presso il Potager di Versailles e presso lo studio Mien Ruys ad Amsterdam. Apre il suo studio Tuinarchitektenburo Arend Jan vd Horst nel 1986 e nel 1998 il Gallery De Prinsenkamer ad Amsterdam. Il suo studio ha avuto sede ad Amsterdam, a Baarsdorp, ad Antwerp e a Deauville/Trouville (Francia). Nel 2006 lo ha trasferito a Middelburg. Progetta sia piccoli giardini che grandi aree urbane, con particolare attenzione per sedi aziendali, piazze, campus universitari. Progetta aree urbane per ogni paese e cultura: dagli Stati Uniti al Giappone e Cina, dall’Australia all’Europa. Fondatore della Spacemaker Press, i suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati in Europa, Asia e nei Stati Uniti. Walker è un membro dell’American Society of Landscape Architects e dell’ Institute for Urban Design. Ha vinto diversi prestigiosi premi. Ha co-progettato il National September 11th Memorial. Peter Walker has exerted a significant influence on the field of landscape architecture over a five-decade career, Educated at the University of California at Berkeley and at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Walker has taught, lectured, written, and served as an advisor to numerous public agencies, while exerting personal control over the design of his own projects. The scope of his landscape inquiries is expansive as well as deep. Projects range from small gardens to new cities, from urban plazas to corporate headquarters and academic campuses. With a dedicated concern for urban and environmental issues, his designs shape the landscape in a variety of geographic and cultural contexts, from the United States to Japan, China, Australia, and Europe. Walker is also the founder of Spacemaker Press, and his work has been extensively published in Europe and Asia as well as the United States. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and of the Institute for Urban Design and has been granted the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects, Harvard’s Centennial Medal, the University of Virginia’s Thomas Jefferson Medal, the ASLA Medal, and the IFLA Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Gold Medal. Cleve West (UK) - Best Show Garden Award, Chelsea Flower 2012 Spinto da John Brookes al The Royal Botanic Gardens, Cleve West è un membro della Society of Garden Designers. È’ stato membro della giuria per la Royal Horticultural Society alle mostre di Hampton e di Chelsea. Noto come progettista di giardini innovativi. His first book, ‘Our Plot’, was published by Frances Lincoln in October 2011. Roberto Burdese - Slow food (IT) Roberto Burdese è dal 2006 Presidente di Slow Food Italia. Entrato in Slow Food nel 1991, ha un curriculum che spazia dalla collaborazione con la casa editrice per le varie pubblicazioni, all’organizzazione degli eventi come il Salone del Gusto e Cheese, alla partecipazione della realizzazione dei grandi progetti come la ristrutturazione dell’Agenzia di Pollenzo e la creazione dell’Università di Scienze Gastronomiche. Da marzo 2008 è il coordinatore della coalizione “Italia-Europa Liberi da Ogm”, che riunendo 32 fra le maggiori organizzazioni ed enti italiani, si adopera per l’affermazione di un modello di sviluppo agroalimentare basato sulla biodiversità, sulla qualità, sul territorio e sulle persone. Roberto Burdese has been President of di Slow Food Italy since 2006. A member of Slow Food since 1991, he has collaborated with publishing houses for various Slow Food publications. He has been involved in event organisation such as “Il Salone del Gusto e Cheese”, has overseen projects such as the re-organisation of the Pollenzo branch and the establishment of the University of Gastronomic Sciences. He has coordinated “Italia-Europa Liberi da Ogm - Italy and Europe free from OGM” since 2006 which, by bringing together 32 of the most important Italian companies, is a model for the development of agricultural food products based on biodiversity, quality, the land and the community.
