Dear Massimo,
This is the festival at which I had many opportunities to conduct and
where my music was performed under my baton with both Italian and
International soloists, where I had an opportunity to work with so many
outstanding artists from all over the world who returned with great joy
to the festival, where not only classical but also contemporary music was
performed. In the 21st century contemporary music is extremely important
as it is a continuation of the music in a country of great culture and with
such rich music traditions.
I cannot imagine that such excellent festival as the Emilia Romagna
Festival could cease to exist in today’s great united Europe, where culture,
including music, is one of the most important elements of promoting our
countries in the world.
Dear Massimo, I hope that the musical world will support your great
activities and you will be able to continue organizing this excellent festival.
I wish you much perseverance and determination in these difficult
moments, and I hope your festival will continue to promote also
contemporary music in Italy.
