The third and
fourth of the
Bigliani
two new patrol vessels for the Guardia
di Finanza (the Italian customs police)
where launched by Intermarine in
Sarzana. The 12 th of March saw the
launching of G 118 “Inzucchi” while on
the 11 th of June saw G 119 “Vitali” in the
water. These are units 3 and 4 respectively
of a series of ten 27-meter composite
patrol boats of the Bigliani VI Class, under
construction at Intermarine yard for the
Guardia di Finanza. Both launches were
as per the contractual schedule.

G118 Inzucchi e l’11 giugno ha toccato
l’acqua per la prima volta il G119 Vitali.
Sono i pattugliatori da 27 metri in
materiale composito, numero tre e
quattro, facenti parte della classe Bigliani
VI Serie di cui Intermarine sta costruendo
dieci esemplari per la Guardia di Finanza.
Entrambi i vari avvengono perfettamente
in linea con i programmi di produzione
previsti dal contratto.
Work continuing
in Brasil
the first of three 29-meter CityCats
is due to be sent down the slipway
in August. Built in aluminium by
Rodriquez do Brazil, they are designed
to carry 200 passengers. Powered by two
1,050 kW MTU 16V 2000 M70 engines
with a conventional propeller propulsion
system, they will have a service speed of
25 knots, which will allow them to cover
the distance between Rio de Janeiro and
Charitas in just 20 minutes. To make the
short crossing even more comfortable
for the passengers, there will be a bar,
television, and music on board. Rodriquez
do Brazil has been operating since 2002.

brasiliani.
Il primo dei tre catamarani CityCat
29 di 29 metri con capacità di 200
passeggeri costruiti in lega leggera
dalla Rodriquez do Brazil sarà varato ad
agosto. L’unità, motorizzata con Mtu 16V
2000 M70 di 1.050 kW e propulsione
tradizionale, è accreditata per 25 nodi
e consentirà di coprire la tratta Rio de
Janeiro – Charitas in soli 20 minuti.
Sala bar, televisione, musica diffusa
intratterranno i passeggeri durante la
navigazione. RdB, condotta da Ettore
Morace che ne è l’amministratore
delegato, è operativa dal 2002.

Industry Pioneer
a prestigious

marine industry who for over thirty years
have distinguished themselves for the
contribution they have made to the
industry’s development.
Alcide Sculati, who has been the Technical
Director of Rodriquez Cantieri Navali since
1991 as well as Managing Director of
Rodriquez Engineering, has been awarded
this prize with the following remarks: Ing.
Sculati is a designer of fast pleasure boats
and a professional of undisputed esteem
who has been one of the first in the world
to use aluminium and water jets on large
yachts. He has for more than a decade
been the head of Rodriquez Engineering,
a company specialized in R&D and today is
a leading designer of fast ferries and also
cooperates with the leading yards of the
Italian boating industry.

annualmente dall’Ucina, a tutte
quelle personalità che operano
nell’industria della nautica da diporto da
più di trent’anni e che si sono distinte per
professionalità, competenza, passione
e soprattutto per gli sviluppi che hanno
saputo dare al settore.
Alcide Sculati, dal 1991 direttore tecnico di
Rodriquez Cantieri Navali e amministratore
delegato della Rodriquez Engineering,
è stato premiato con la seguente
motivazione: progettista di imbarcazioni
e navi da diporto veloci e professionista
di indiscusso valore tecnico, è tra i primi
al mondo ad utilizzare la lega leggera e
gli idrogetti su grandi imbarcazioni per il
diporto. Da oltre un decennio alla guida
della Rodriquez Engineering, società
specializzata in ricerca e sviluppo, alterna
la progettazione di sofisticati traghetti
veloci alla collaborazione con cantieri tra
i più rappresentativi dell’industria nautica
italiana.
